I'll start...

I like the sidebar - I like seeing the titles of Breaking News, and other news, when I check My Comments. What I DON'T like is those annoying polls at the top of the sidebar! I don't like polls; I don't particularly like to vote in them, so I don't like having to check one of the little squares just to move the *latest* one to the bottom of the sidebar. Whether we have Opinion Polls on the sidebar or not should be an option *we* can choose in our Preferences. At least I think so. :(

This thread will run for two days, so go ahead; it's your turn...get on *your* soapbox! (but do watch your language!)

What a terrific idea for a thread Billie. Love the guy on the soap box! lol - I have a LOT of ideas but will post one quickly before I leave for most of day (will be back tonight) actually as i am pretty limited in time I will put one on that I posted on Dose last night.;

re: the shooting incident(the police shooting evading person in England). It really burns me up when here (and now there) the police are meant to appear as the "bad guys" when something like this happens.

If the cops say stop or we will shoot.. you have two choices.

If someone doesn't follow directions - .. the cops have two choices.

A person is an idiot for not complying with armed police. I hate to hear this compensation business..

this does get under my skin.. my significant other for many years & still a very dear friend is a cop & they put up with such crap, it is astounding.

A rant from our dear Miss Billie is a very fine way to start the day.

A rant from me?

Oh my, there's so much to choose from.

I'm tired of the Bush Bashers who hold such contempt for the President ... tired of the Dims who hate him like a Grand Dragon hates ... tired of conservatives and Republicans who express such disdain and fear that he's not a true blue conservative, or doesn't toe their own particular line in all ways.

I wish they'd have a little more faith in the man, in our common destiny, and be a little more grateful that he's as good and genuine as he is.

I mean, like, well, like, y'know ... President Bush is pure gold compared to the counterfeit facsimilie of man who sat in the Captain's Chair before him.

I'm tired of not having enough work when I want it.

I'm tired of having too much work when I really just wanna play.

I'm extremely weary of Alan Colmes, all his talking-head parrot pals, and Dingy Harry Reid, Pelosi and almost all elected Dims ... they have no clue about reality, civility or the true nature of the enemy.

I'm tired of my old TV and want a new one.

I wish summer was over and cool weather was nigh.

I'm bummed that gas is so expensive, but glad my old car still runs like a spotted ape.

It really irritates me that I can't play guitar as well as I wish, and hit all those chords perfectly everytime.

I'm sure glad and grateful to be alive and witness the incredible splendor of blue skies and rolling hills and all of God's creatures as they poke around this wonderful world.

I don't mind growing old ... heck, I love living so much I wanna be here another hundred years, even if I do get a little creaky ... and cranky.

I'm sure glad and grateful for FR and the Finest ... my life would be quite barren without either.

since JW already ranted about the Bush-bashers, I'll leave that alone, I really am tired of them!

You know, the "Bush-is-evil" crowd. I sometimes feel I'm surrounded and outnumbered by them.

When I try to tell any of them why I like him and think he is doing a fine job as President and how I can see he is a good man and a swell Christian, all I get from them is either I am stupiod, blind or a fool.

Not to mention they make me think they think I'm really "out-of-it" and brainwashed.

Some don't even want to discuss it as "They are right" and "I am wrong"

I remember after the election, no one woyld speak to me or want me in thier company, thinking I sentenced them to 4 more years of misery.

That is my first peeve!

The second one is, I don't understand why I feel so left out of the loop about so many things.

GHEE, I need to partition this rant (Well, not really a rant) just some things that are really bothering me. I wished I( had someone to talk to.

That leads me to another peeve, The fact that I don't get to spend some time on FR due to timing restrictions. I hardly finish a post before it is time to get back to work, and trying to get online from my PC at home is trying; to say the least.

When I do get on it's like everyone else has already left to do what ever it is they have to do in thier real lives.

I feel so lonely amongst these liberal friends that I can't really talk to anyone of them about what it is I'm feeling.

Well, at least we have the Harry Potter novels in common, but I do like to talk about something else for once.

Now I have to end this post, (My eyes are leaking)

On your first peeve, I have to tell you ,that I know where you are coming from,because I have the same experience as you.

I am tired as well of the Dims thinking that Americans can't think for themselves and that we are the ones being brainwashed when it is the other way around.

To your second part,I sometimes experience the same thing,but I don't despair about it,because even the few minutes I get to spend here in the mornings help me get through the day.

Oh, Pippin, I wish your workplace was different, and there were at least a few more Bush supporters. :( Hate that you have to put up with the intense hatred they feel for our President and everything he does or says.

Re online when you get home at night: it does seem like the Finest usually rolls up the sidewalk early in the evening, and then a new thread is started, and the late posts don't always get answered. I'm sorry we're not online at the same time very much.
