Charles Krauthammer says that Britain has to do something about the open preaching of hate and jihad that goes on in places like the Finsbury mosque, and that it is essential that they get something like the Patriot Act if they do not want these attacks to go on and on.

Well maybe, but she may have felt she was being helpful as she often is the tie-breaker. Either way, she has not been perfect for our side, but she is still mostly on our side and I don't wish to speak ill of her, what's the point of that?

I read somewhere today that Bob Beckel, Democratic strategist, has said the DNC is going to take the $$ they intended to use to oppose the SCOTUS nominee and use it to take down Rove instead.

Where in the world one can take down someone with $$? They tried it & failed in 2004.

The RATs have not yet made a formal request for "documents". That request must come from the Judiciary Committee. Why raise hell now when we don't know what documents that are going to ask for?

Krauthammer says that all of the dem presidential candidates will vote against Roberts. Watching them jin up their justifications will be interesting. Kristol says that, a week before the vote on Roberts, the NYT will play some dirty trick.

Did anyone watch "Face the Nation" this morning and Schafer's questions for AG Gonzales? No wonder I don't watch these hateful clowns, it is SO apparent the hate they hold for the Bush administration. At one point, Schafer's asks Gonzales about the Rove leak and he asked why did Gonzales (while he was the WH counsel) waited 12 hours to notify the WH staff about the DoJ starting a criminal investigation on the "leak" and then actually adding "giving the staff 12 hours to maybe shred relevant documents". I actually yelled at the TV: "Because it not Clinton's WH so people do not break the law" but Gonzales explained that he was informed late in the evening by the DoJ about the investigation and at that time he asked the DoJ if he should notify the staff then (taking into consideration that they were all gone home for the day) or wait until the morning and it was the DoJ who advised him to do it first thing in the morning (which he did). However, scumbag Shafer was not satisfied, he wanted to know if Gonzales told someone else that evening and whom it was (which Gonzales answered he told only the Chief of Staff ->Andrew Carr) to which Shafer continued to imply that maybe bad behavior did occur afterall until the official notification of the staff. The whole show is just a travesty, it was as if Gonzales was facing a firing squad. Oh yes, Shafer also brought up Roberts' wife position about abortion and wanted to know if Roberts' should be hold accountable for it...I don't remember ever being an issue a spouse's view during the Clinton years. Shafer and his attack dog (some chick named Greenberg) also went on about pressing the matter on turning in more information while Roberts wrote the legal briefs for the Bush Sr. and that there is a precedent during Bork's nomination but Gonzales was so great into mentioning that if they are referring to recent precedents, the same documents were required during Ginsburg's and Breyer's nomination process and the WH never turned the documents in and that besides how can the Judicial Committee can require addition information when they haven't even started to question the Roberts. They huffed and they puffed and it all blew in their face...I changed the channel, I am not in the mood to hear Biden's sick rhetoric of hate.

There are similar laws including anti terrorist laws but there has been much discussion over a law specifically for the current situation and it was bungled in the last Parliament.

In fact many felt it did not go far enough and other felt on some counts went too far or in the wrong direction.

Most politicians from both the right and left recognise we need something but as yet have failed to agree what.

I think that I heard Juan say that one of them was the godfather to a child of the other. Juan has been supportatice in prior statements.

Don't forget that Rush is also a personal friend of Justice Thomas.

Oddly, a few weeks ago I heard Hume ask him something along the the lines of "Since you're a personal friend of Clarence Thomas, do you think he would be able to be confirmed in the Senate today? "

Could have been a joke, since Juan went to bat for Justice Thomas and wrote a book about the lynching. He is an outcast from the NAACP and other leftwing groups for it. For a socialist he has made some good stands.
