Charles Krauthammer says that Britain has to do something about the open preaching of hate and jihad that goes on in places like the Finsbury mosque, and that it is essential that they get something like the Patriot Act if they do not want these attacks to go on and on.

There are similar laws including anti terrorist laws but there has been much discussion over a law specifically for the current situation and it was bungled in the last Parliament.

In fact many felt it did not go far enough and other felt on some counts went too far or in the wrong direction.

Most politicians from both the right and left recognise we need something but as yet have failed to agree what.
