New thread time
LOL Me too!
#####
Me three! My ears cannot take it!
New thread ping -- he fooled them all!!!! They misunderestimated W again. Too bad, Ted, July 19 seems to be your unlucky date. My most memorable birthday ever.
I don't think Brown was robbed.
I think she is the perfect choice to replace Ginsberg when she leaves the USSC. By then she'll be well seasoned and know a few of the players who come up against the USSC arguing cases.
Agreed
teeeeheee...if she did, she'd be speaking for herself.
BINGO!
We should all celebrate this one ! Any family still in the state? Any other hoosier ties?
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
U.S. President George W. Bush (2nd L) nominates federal appeals court judge John Roberts (L) to the Supreme Court in a televised address to the nation from the White House, July 19, 2005. Dancing in front of Bush is Roberts' son John. Also pictured are Roberts' wife Jane and daughter Josephine. President Bush chose conservative appeals court judge John Roberts on Tuesday as his first nominee to the Supreme Court, and called for the Senate to 'act promptly' in approving his nominee. (Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)
Kids! John's father was just nominated for the Justice of the Supreme Court and he is dancing while the President of the United States is speaking! ROFLOL!
Lord this is almost as good as election night. The DUmmies are giving up already!! LOL Once they find out the Rove thing is going nowhere, my god, they'll be throwing themselves off buildings or drinking koolaide. The next move needs to be for Luttig or JRBrown, and the elvation of Scalia or Thomas to CJ. We WILL get partial birth abortion overturned if not the whole thing.
"Justice O¹Connor set a high standard. She tried to bring the nation together, and she respected the Constitution. She was a mainstream conservative who used her ability and respect for the rule of law to find solutions that would strengthen us as a nation, as the Constitution intended.
"Mr. Roberts must demonstrate that he meets that standard before the American people, and he will have an opportunity to do so before the Senate Judiciary Committee before the coming weeks.
Does anybody know if the standard has ever been such that the nominee must respect the political beliefs of the person to whom they are replacing?
Specter will NOT block or support a delay of Roberts.
I'd bet 3:1 (or better) on that.
The left was ready with protest signs, paperwork, and speeches to battle a woman appointee. Bush pulled the rug right out from under them! LOL. They had to protest with nothing!
I understand Dick Durbin's original draft statement accused Roberts of being Pol Pot's lawyer.ROTFLOL!
Good point about illuminating the entanglements. But I suspect the Dems will bail, most of them, when they preceive what you do. Going down for the cause, taking casualties, just isn't in it for most of the time servers. They are more into focus groups. They are more into longevity, for longevity's sake.
That is absolutely hilarious. That little boy will always be remembered as the kid who danced in front of the POTUS while his father was being nominated for the Supreme Court.
LOL! I don't think anyone would like to see their dad in leather pants, regardless of his age! hehe
What a cute picture! And the President just keeps talking, never misses a beat and is most likely amused.
