President Bush has chosen federal appeals court judge John G. Roberts Jr. as his nominee to the Supreme Court, a senior administration official says...
Reminds me of the Gladiator movie when the Roman General remarks: "People should know when they're conquered".
I think Roberts is about as conservative as Rhenquist. IOW, he's no Clarence Thomas, but he'll do. And a hell of a lot better than who he's replacing!
He will be confirmed and if the Democrats choose to filibuster make sure that this time our side will use the Constitutional option AKA nuclear option, and the Democrats will be crushed for many years to come.
Maybe the Supremes can save them some time and send them a stack of forms with "CANCELLED" stamped on it!

The Bill of Rights does NOT "grant" rights, it recognizes them as pre-existing. Rights granted are rights that can be revoked.
I realize this is nit-picking, but it's very important to understand the difference. Words have meanings, dontcha know.
