After her second round of chemo, Laura bowed to the inevitable and got a buzz cut and a wig named Wanda. It's typical that the hair loss kicks in about 2 weeks after the first treatment. I know because I had my sixth chemo yesterday.
I'm so jealous that she still is so beautiful without much hair! I'm 48 and reasonably attractive but me without hair is not something anyone would want to see, believe me :-)
God bless her
I feel validated by having you on my thread!
Prayers for both you and Laura Ingraham. Your courage is very inspiring! :o)
The days of spending chemo curled up in the fetal postion retching your guts out seem to be over, thank the good Lord, or at least with the regimine I've been on. Usually day two and three after treatment I'm tired and weak, but I get most of my energy back pretty quickly. It helps that I was in great health and physical condition to begin with and have been exercising throughout.
Great thought, but my husband's ex is named Vicky, LOL!
Q: What does one say to a beautiful woman who is bald?
A: What is your phone number? How about dinner?
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
LOL lord have mercy!
another guy who loves Laura here... Prayers from Los Angeles... God please help this wonderful woman pull thru this...
still beautiful, you are absolutely right.
You got it! No negative people are allowed near me!
Ok..."which side"...now you've got me laughing.
Guys can be really goofy so I'm smiling at you making them blush. Now I'm remembering other blush situations: toupee incidents....Viet Nam amputees who teased me about their legs. We laugh because it sure beats the alternative!
You're not mean- you are funny. It wasn't so long ago that because of poor health care, most adults had many missing body parts. Some of them hid & were really miserable--others, just kept right on enjoying life.
There was a parody on an old, (way before your time) love song called "My Little Girl"
The real song was syrupy sweet: My little girl, you know I love you. And I long for you each day. My little girl, I'm dreaming of you, though I'm many miles away.
My dear departed mom who had no real teeth & and uncle with a wooden leg taught me this version:
"My little girl took out her glass eye, and she rolled it across the floor.
My little girl took off her wooden leg, and she set it by the door.
My little girl, took out her false teeth, and she took off her false hair.
My little girl, I 'd like to love you, but you're scattered everywhere."
Prayers for T Minus 4 as well... God please help T Minus 4 back to good health...
BTW, what is the real story with Laura's fiance (ex-fiance)? Did he leave her? I've seen discussions here on FR, but never got the story straight. If Laura said anything about it on her radio show, I must've missed it. Thanks.
You know, somehow, for reasons I don't understand, that became very clear to me from the moment I heard the diagnosis. I remember thinking, I cn handle this, but dear God, my husband, sisters, parents, daughters, friends ....how are they going to cope with their pain?
I read a story about a woman who had a long wavy dark wig and a drunk at a party kept hitting on her and saying how he wanted to run his hads through her beautiful hair. Finally she yaanked off her wig, handed it to him, and told him to be her guest, she was going to go hit the buffet. She wondered if he he joined AA the next morning, hee hee!
Oops, I got lost on memory lane....about the song. We took great delight in offering to sing "My little Girl" whenever there was a piano and new victims around.
>>It's unfortunate Laura has to go through this. However, with this buzz it only further highlights my assertion that SHE IS NOT BEAUTIFUL!
Guys, get for real. Stop being desparate losers. I know that the "right" has a vaccum of babes compared to the left, but stop crowning Laura the beauty queen of the right. Take a look at her face, imagine her without makeup, and I believe you may come to the conclusion that she really isn't all that babeish...
My point is not to kick her when she's down <,
My Mother always told me to be quiet if I couldn't think of something nice to say...unfortunately you did not learn that lesson. I'll pray for you. Some people really need help, and you may be one of them.
AMEN!
I send him/her a private post saying the same, but more...
I've had my go-rounds with cancer and heart attacks. So far, I have permitted those events to interfere with my bank account, but not with my life otherwise. LOL.
Prayers, best wishes, and above all a healthy sense of humor to all the folks and families on this thread.
