President Bush continues to have confidence in Karl Rove, the presidential adviser at the center of a press frenzy over the ongoing Justice Department investigation into a leak that divulged the name of a CIA officer, the White House said yesterday. "Any individual who works here at the White House has the confidence of the president. They wouldn't be working here at the White House if they didn't have the president's confidence," Bush spokesman Scott McClellan said. Asked whether that included Mr. Rove, the spokesman said, "Yes." But for the second straight day, the White House refused to answer questions about the case, which is consuming Washington and has become the prime topic of the White House press secretary's daily briefings. Mr. McClellan deflected questions yesterday, saying the matter is part of an "ongoing investigation." Mr. Bush ignored a question about Mr. Rove during a brief question-and-answer session with reporters in the Oval Office.

It IS a major story, and if you want to cede the airwaves to the liberal smear, go right ahead. But maybe you should start by, I dunno, not contributing to one of those threads you are criticizing? Just a thought. ;)
Interesting that the press that had demanded the investigation of possible retribution is bemoaning the fact that Miller and Cooper are being questioned(Cooper is married to Clinton aide Mandy Grunwald, no conflict of interest there, right?).
The partisan confines of the MSM do not tolerate the question as to whether this story may in fact have been a whistle blower against Plame and Wilson for abusing position. Valerie Plame has been found by the committee to have in fact used her influence to get her husband (big Clinton contributor) a plum assignment.
We also have learned that Wilson's own statements reveal that he saw classified documents before he was hired for the job (also a big problem with the law).
As to Rove, this is a big miss again for the 'Rats. I am almost convinced that Rove planned the whole thing.
Like your tagline by the way; one of my favorite songs. Can't hit the high notes any more though (sigh).
Regards,
Of course, you could always reply, "I didn't know you believed in the death penalty."
And you could also say you also care about our troops, and hit him/her up for a donation for Give2theTroops, or the USO.
Or ask for things to send to the troops and mail them to me and I'll see they get there.
Currently we're looking for Playstation2 games to send to the Engineers in Baghdad that are rebuilding the infrastructure in Iraq.
OR better yet, Operation Crayon, to send school supplies to poor Iraqi kids in Kirkuk. What liberal can turn that down?
My guess is that Karl Rove is just taking care of the President's business and not losing one minute of sleep over this tripe.
Bush isn't damaged, because it isn't going to touch him in any way, shape, or form.
Who is damaged? The MSM. Once again, they show themselves to be utterly incompetent at spotting real news and reporting real facts. If there WAS anything in the Rove story, it is their job to FIND THE EVIDENCE---which starts at the NY Times. But they really don't want to go there.
Just laugh at them...out loud and in their faces.
Especially after the last couple of White House press breifings. All of those idiots sounded like they were on the DNC payroll.
Well, the bad news is actually that no one listens to that crap. If they did, NBCBSABCMSNBCNYTIMESWAPOCNN would have no audience/readers/viewers whatsoever. None.
I would bet a big bundle that Rove is spending almost NO time on this - the reporters are, and the libs are, but no one else is.
The time he does spend on it is probably mostly laughing.
I work part time in a law firm and have asked the attorneys how they feel this will turn out. All of them have told me[and most of these guys are defense attorneys and way liberal] that Rove has done nothing illegal and cannot be prosecuted for anything, but don't expect the RATS to give up on this.

Bingo! ... These folks are seriously funny. They'll bust head veins about Rove over nothing. LOL...
this is entertainment, nothing more, for serious FReepers.
" I believe they have a film out called the brain behind Bush "
I watched " Karl Rove- Bush's Brain " this past week end.
It was a poorly done " documentary."
The film interviewed former college rivals , defeated Texas candidates, convicted Texas Democrats ,disgruntled McCain aides, liberal anti Bush reporters and Molly Ivins.
Every single person blamed Karl Rove for their troubles, but, every single person added the disclaimer that " they had no proof ,there was no evidence, but, they just knew Karl Rove was responsible."
It was an orgy of paranoia completely lacking in substance.
One of my favorite clips was a group of Texas Democrats who were investigated by the FBI , indicted, convicted and sent to prison.
They are convinced that Karl Rove orchestrated everything from the FBI investigation to the evidence to the indictments to the jury conviction, etc.
And these people were deadly serious.
The other funny clip was a Washington Post reporter ( IRRC ) who was convinced that Karl Rove leaked Plame's name " because they both attend the same Episcopal church in DC."
The only thing they didn't blame Rove for was the Lindbergh kidnapping , but, I am sure it's just a matter of time.
they think it is only right that they get their share of impeachment proceedings and special prosecutors in. unfortunately for them, those things are at a minimum with this admin so they have to fabricate scandals.
i feel kind of sorry for them really. it's pretty pathetic.
Mr. Rove knows that he is playing with the big boys (and girls). He took on this job by choice and is stunningly successful which is why there is a great big target on his back.
And, I betcha they're not spending very much time on it at all. They're working on SCOTUS nominations. So as hard as it is to watch, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over this. Mr. Rove will be just fine, because it's his job, and in the end he will win.
