We Must Freep Red State Democrats
July 4, 2005 | Matt Dedinas

Posted on 07/04/2005 10:36:32 AM PDT by Cato Uticensis

It is necessary for us to turn our resources to help the President get his Judicial nominees. Many of the 44 Democratic Senators of their minority live in predominantly Republican states. Typically they run with the promise that they are more Conservative and not Radical Leftists like Ted Kennedy. The time has come for them to prove it. We must contact our Democratic Senators here in the Red States and give not a moment's peace until they commit to cloture.

This is certainly the case here in Florida, with Bill Nelson. He ran as a Conservative Democrat and actually voted for cloture on Estrada. Florida Freepers need to be calling him day and night.

I will post information on the Senators and I urge you to Freep these guys for all you're worth!!!

I am more than willing to wait for the nominee to be named, then see what the Senate does, and if Nelson wants to act the ass, I'll be calling, writing, and e-mailing daily.

My concern is when the prez thinks he nominates a conservative the nation gets a liberal or a middle of the fencer like O'Connor who don't really interpret the Constitution.

I'll second that. I'm even weary that a conservative will even be nominated.

you guys are right, that is a concern. They say though that Bush is strategizing and learned from past mistakes. We still have to make the effort. We have to try.

If a qualified conservative judge that has a strong history of support the Constitution as it is written is nominated I would be glad to write my senators.

Unfortunately, my senators happen to be Schumer and Satan so there really isn't any point.

There are four Democrats in the South as well as Ben Nelson in Nebraska and Conrad and Dorgan from North Dakota that are all very vulnerable to defeat.

First, though Bush must nominate a Scalia-like justice.

This tactic will work. It's not just me, but many thoughtful commentators who've said that a Supreme Court vacancy will be too high-profile for the Democrats to hold a filibuster together. In a biological context, Ted Kennedy may be 45 members of the Senate, but in actual vote counts, he'll fall short on this.

That is what I am calling for. If you are in Nebraska, you should take the lead among your Nebraska brothers and sisters, and freep that guy right away. I am going to find his website and post it and his contact info on this site. Also tell your non-Freeper friends.

They say though that Bush is strategizing and learned from past mistakes.

It's not the Red State Democrats I worry about. It's the spineless, gutless RINOs like my two Senators here in Ohio, plus Specter, Chaffee, Lindsey Graham, McCain, and the others in the Sellout Seven.

Bush might as well nominate a Kennedy, because these Yahoos are more concerned about pleasing the Washington Post editorial board than voting to confirm the President's nominees.

My Florida brothers and sisters! We must FREEP Senator Bill Nelson and demand he have no part in any filibuster against Bush's nominee. He did vote for cloture on Estrada. It is up to us to land on his back like a 500 lb gorilla. He stands for reelection in '06. Let's FREEP him up!

His contact info is on this post.

Hey brothers and sisters! It is time for a massive FREEP of Senator Bill Nelson. He ran as a Conservative Democrat. Let him prove it now. He broke ranks on the Estrada filibuster. Contact him again and again and tell him to have nothing to do with any filibuster on Bush's SCOTUS nominee. His contact info is on this post.

We need to get on his back like a 500lb gorilla and not get off until he promises no filibusters. Go to it, my siblings!
