I just realized...I mean that.
It's going to come down to this.
I have often argued, as many here have, that when FReepers said they would sit home rather than vote for (McCain, usually, sometimes Guiliani), that such sitting out would put Hilary in the Whitehouse.
But I'm not moving on this.
I concur with that statement. I cannot believe we have numbskulls on here that support Hillary to begin with but I don't know one Conservative that would vote for her for dog catcher not to mention anything else. Guess this Freeper just outed himself as not being the most Conservative person on this board -- far from it. Post a vanity with headlines to give us this crap! Unbelieveable!
I noticed the first time this poster posted he was using a similar name to Jim's son, it is probably enough for new people to think it is Jim's son posting BTW.
I understand your concern, but I will vote for who has the best chance to keep a Liberal out of power. I refuse to bite off my nose to spite my face
Hillary is too large a threat to National Security to allow into the White House (closely monitored tour group might be OK).
Then those people are PRETTY STUPID for not knowing the different between Robertson and Robinson.
But if Hillary becomes President in 2008, there will be no more elections in 2012.
The US military is about 75% Republican leaning. Do you really think they'd sit by if there was no 2012 election?
If all it takes is one nomination you don't agree with to have you vote for Hillary, then sooner or later something will make you jump like Jim Jeffords anyway. No "True Conservative" would ever vote for Her Thighness.
I want to see a strict constitutionalist put up for the court >>>
that's why we voted for him, and let's hope he keeps his word. The unborn will love him for it. I may not vote for Hitlery, but maybe the Constitution Party candidate. What the heck.
Like I always said, when you vote for a demoncrat you know what you will get every time and when you vote for a republican, well, it's a coin toss on each issue.
Hilary will never be Presiden
Sorry, I'm not buying. I will stay home before I vote for Hillary.
I'll vote against Hitlery even if the Republicans are as dumb as they can be and run a loser. What I refuse to do, however, is watch that beastly creature be sworn in as President of this great country. What a frightening prospect!
Yes, because soldiers follow orders. However, there might be a possibility of a civil war, if a charismatic general emerged.
A card carrying member of the cut off your nose to spite your face contingent, I see.
Sure. Right.
Next............................
LOL!! You said it, I didn't! Someone asked me sometime back why Jim's son was not very conservative anymore which is why I made the comment! :)
As I've said before (and will say again) this is a persistent defect in "true conservatives" --- the inability to be pragmatic. These are the people that consistently argue that half a loaf is the same as no bread and give the rest of us a bad name.
Of course, John Robertson, you have the ability and the right, to vote for whomever you wish. This is still America. However, I wish to point out something that has not occurred to you, perhaps:
Should you actually go through with your threat and pull the lever for the Queen of Darkness, just what kind of example do you think you are setting for "...your wife...your children...your grandchildren"? The example you will set, simply, is that people are entitled to everything they want in life, and that when they don't get it, they should bitch, whine and moan like a bunch of pansy democrats and act in ways that are totally and egregiously against their own self-interests. Self-destruction as a means of anger management. Makes perfect sense to me.
You know, there's been a lot of good done vis-a-vis the conservative revolution across a broad spectrum. Sometimes, you simply have to take your victories where you can and (temporarily) sacrifice another principle in order to make progress someplace else.
I'm not saying that Bush should cave and nominate a total wuss --- if he could get the person he wants (despite a filibuster) then fine, I'm all for it. However, if he has to back down and get someone slightly more moderate, then that's fine too. The idea is to do what is best for the country --- not what's best for John Robertson.
I hate to break this to you, but John Robertson is merely one person in a country of 300 million. Grow up.
Weak argument that doesn't hold water with any conservative worth their salt. Bush's budgets have increasing non-defense spending by leaps and bounds beyond what Clinton's budgets did.
When it comes down to it, I think you'll realize any vote that doesnt go to the Republicans is a vote for...atleast helping Hillary...even if its John McCain...its still not Hillary
Anybody
But
Clinton!
