If Bush Doesn't Nominate A True Conservative, I'm Voting For Hilary For Presiden

I just realized...I mean that.

It's going to come down to this.

I have often argued, as many here have, that when FReepers said they would sit home rather than vote for (McCain, usually, sometimes Guiliani), that such sitting out would put Hilary in the Whitehouse.

But I'm not moving on this.

Bob Dole, incidentally, was ALWAYS noted for his ability to compromise when necesary. I don't think we'd find anyone here (other than the rejects from the Hitler Youth) that could find fault with Bob Dole's conservatism.

We would have been far better off if Mr. Dole had won in 1996 rather than suffer through four more disastrous years of President Clinton [even if Mr. Dole was a less than ideal candidate on the Second Amendment.] I was glad to work to elect Mr. Dole, and I was bitterly disappointed when he lost.

Wishful thinking and absurd hyperbole, aren't going to get you anything but laughed at.

Soooooooooooooooo...."the Dems are more irrelevant every day. " are they? That's how they've managed to stall almost all of the president's judicial nominations for the past 5 years, etc.? And they are also "impotent and irrelevant" ? That's why they are still around,in pretty large numbers, is it ?

I suggest that you get "with the times" and whilst you're at it, manage to finally learn what politics is REALLY all about and how it works...instead of how you imagine it all to be. Politics is the world of the possible; it isn't what your heart's desire happens to be at the moment.

There are not now and most assuredly with not be in your lifetime, enough naifs voting for some KOOK in some fringe Libertarian or Constitution, or even Pat B.'s favorite, the KNOW NOTHING PARTY, to do anything other than to snatch defeat, from the jaws of victory.

Excuse me, but those "Perot Voters" were people just like YOU --- you hear what you want to hear and disregard everything else.

George I did not "gleefully" raise taxes. It was a result of the political enviornmet in which he had to operate (outgunned in both houses of congress, the Federal Defecit became a hot-button issue, unemployment was up). Ross Perot, on the other hand, in trying to make himself a fiscal conservative, gleefully informed us that he would also raise taxes (just not INCOME TAXES) in order to reduce the deficit -- for our CHILDREN. Straight out of the democratic playbook.

What you, and many like you, managed to delude yourselves into seeing was a "conservative" who was nothing more than a 9 month infomercial with a Napoleon complex.

In the end, those "conservative" voters brought us 8 years of the Clinton circus.

I couldn't really vote for someone who gleefully raised taxes. BTW, the Republicans still haven't learned the lessons of 1992 (Bush's loss thanks to Perot voters). I think their stupidity level is pretty funny.

I on the other hand don't find the naivete of voters who went for Perot and helped Clinton get elected to be funny at all. Pathetic, really. Even more pathetic that you'd do it again.

Then you are NOT a Republican! Conservative Republicans never want to see another RAT in the WH -- you do remember Executive Orders don't you? Some of them Bush has not been able to overturn to this day because of all the paperwork that has be done along with research to get them overturned.

No Republican that has worked in the trenches would ever say we need a DemocRAT in the White House -- we don't taught a thing. Maybe you like Howard Dean, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton but they make me ill and I don't want any of them near the WH ever again along with any other RAT. Thanks for outing yourself along with others on this thread.

This is for me and my wife...and our kids...and our grandchildren

And you want to risk sending their future down the toilet over one supreme court nominee? At least vote third party if you feel this strongly about it. I won't vote for Hillary, no way, no how.

I haven't paid that close attention, but it is midnight hear on in EST. Maybe the guy went to bed after he posted. Who knows. He's been on FR since 2001.

I wouldn't vote for Hillary, and neither would you, but his assumption is that the Rino powerbrokers would be saying, "those conservatives don't have anyone else but us."

So, his response is about paybacks to anyone who would think like that.

In light of what he's thinking, I don't consider him anything other than misguided.

Remember how Perot was anti-NAFTA while his family was behind Alliance Airport in Fort Worth to get all the NAFTA traffic and take it away from places like San Antonio?

Can you believe some of the people on this thread? I think we are finding out who the Hillary voters on FR are tonight! :)

I have been thinking and worrying over this too, and its discouraging to think what could happen, and think of the fight that we have ahead of us, but I take comfort in knowing that at last we have a majority in this country. We voted him into office and we kept him there, despite all the leftist rhetoric and attacks. And he has not let us down thus far. He stands by his promises. Don't let the leftists dishearten us. Take action! Write your congressmen. Write the president himself and let them know that you support them, so that they will have the courage to do what we voted them into office to do.

Good advice Desert_Girl and welcome to FR! (:

We all need to hold our congesscritters feet to the fire and remind them of just who they are there to serve = We the People who put them there in the first place!

I just wish their actions would affirm the majority we have all over the map.

I think the water is poisoned in DC. /sarc

Sorry, but my conservative vote doesn't belong to any party. It has to be earned every at every election. Even more pathetic are voters who vote Republican just for the [R].

Do you think we found some of the Hillary voters on the FR poll?

They are definitely Perot supporters -- I cannot believe anyone would even own up to voting for little big ears!

I would vote for McCain before I'd vote for Hill.

A lot depends on who the repubs nominate to replace Bush. If that turncoat McCain is nominated I will write-in Tancredo, Santorum or Gingrich. I haven't decided yet. No way on God's green earth would I vote for that bit*h Hellory. If possible we may raise enough hell to get a write-in campaign going. I can't bring myself to vote Libertarian. The Constitution Party, maybe.
