"New York 9-11 Memorial will include museums on Indian genocide, black slavery genocide, more"
Fox News | 6/14/05

Posted on 06/14/2005 2:03:20 PM PDT by pabianice

Richard Tofel, director of what was supposed to have been the 9-11 Memorial in New York, was just interviewed on Fox. He reluctantly admitted that the site will house instead something called the American Freedom Memorial, intended to "celebrate American freedom." There will be a 9-11 museum. However, other competing museums on the site will be dedicated to evil white European males' slaughter of American Indians, evil white European males' creation and maintenance of the black slave trade, and other museums "for which the details have not yet been determined."

Folks it's time to pull the plug on this outrage before it can get started with your money.

How far back into history must we go with our damn apologies? WE werent even alive when some of this crap happened.

How many other nations people wear a hairshirt their whole lives for something they werent even around to have a hand in?? History is full of people that have been wronged one way or another. We need to look to the future with past mistakes in mind, not on our damned backs.

They have to tell the tale leading up to 9-11 and how "we deserved" what happened because we did the same to others at different levels.

I hadn't quite articulated it but that is EXACTLY RIGHT!!! What hogwash! We already paid for those things in blood!

Who owns the property? Surely, having a collection of anti-American Museums on this prime real estate, makes no more economic sense than it does patriotic sense.

Frankly, other than a plaque to commemorate a tragedy, there is no reason for any museum, other than one suggested below. There is no point in celebrating the hit we took. (And, indeed, having museums designed to attack American culture, would indeed be a form of celebration for the hit we took.)

On the other hand, there is something that should be commemorated some place, and that is the absolutely incredible heroism of New York Fire Fighters, who rushed in to almost certain death, to try to save others. The proposed museums, dedicated to other interests and other folks, are the exact opposite, however, to any form of recognition for those genuine heroes.

I hope that some one with a sick sense of humor is "pulling all our legs," over this report.

the financial district doesn't want to move back into that building.

Rudy was right - nothing should be built there except the memorial.

I have a suggestion---

Maybe we could all e-mail Fox News and other news channels and ask them to show the footage of the towers being hit and falling down every day---4-5 times at optimum watching time, until this group agrees to NOT put this museum in there!!!

Surely, Fox would do that---I have never understood why they agreed not to show the footage anyway..I think it should be shown regularly while we are still at war!!!

Is the implication that Indian genocide and black slavery genocide excuses the terrorist attack? That these past wrongs caused us to deserve the evil of September 11, 2001?

There has been a very, very disappointing lack of coverage in the media on this subject.

Gov. Pataki has made a complete mess of rebuilding lower Manhattan.

The very fact that Pataki has let it go this far shows his utter incompetence and betrayal of those 3000 murdered on 911. It is utterly insane to even let the IFC get this far. True justice would demand that Pataki be taken to the site and hung (at least tarred and feathered -- lol). We are at war for the survival of our Republic and civilization. The citizens need to become warriors in their mindset. Those who betray this Republic from within deserve the ultimate penalty -- death.

Yes Soros and other left wing hate Americans are behind this, and they are going to use our tax money to do it. The Tony Snow show had a very long interesting look at this last week.

If anyone wants to see a proper memorial site that respects the dead, go visit the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor.

Very inspiring. Quiet, understated, respectful. Devastating in its simplicity.

Does anyone really think our phony "Republicans" in City Hall and Albany really have the stones to do something half as moving as the Arizona?

Most in the MSM back the traitorous IFC and are happy to see this PC crap foisted upon us. It is disgusting.

Why must everything be politicized by these people? You have to watch them every minute. Now we have to break our backs undoing the damage--if possible.

What a great idea to have the site on your tagline!

Do you mind if I copy your idea?
