The two suspects arrested in connection with the disappearance have just been charged with murder, homicide and kidnapping leading to homicide.
Im not a vet and in 1981 I was very young. But it does happen. I hope I am wrong.
Answer me this? What would make other teenagers not want to be with this wonderfully smart, pretty honor student? The only thing I can think of is, a very uncomfortable situation?
I agree considering this is the third story I've seen connecting Carlos and Charlie's to missing or assaulted young ladies.
Thanks you for the response. What incites me is that 1. This is an American girl. 2.We will not see the justice as it should be applied. 3. The three perps in the beginning of the whole charade are blowing smoke for their nostrils in what they did.4.These little caribbean islands politicos are bought and paid for by the high roller elitist crimials. 5.Aruba is like a one-eyed jack to most people. They only see through a tunnel vision of the nice side amenities and not the actual down to earth reality. Yes, there were some foreign tourists murdered down in Florida some years backs. I hope the perps responsible did or will receive the "sleeping murderer" injection. Many metro-areas are crime ridden here in the USA due to liberalism, poor choices in weak Police Chiefs, Civic leaders and sub-standard recruiting of law enforcement officers.8 years of a do nothing commie-draft-dodging x42 with far left morals and doctrine did not help matters in America. The bottom line here, is that if it were your daughter,I would feel the same way about bringing all these perps to justice(dirt nap) or we make Aruba pay by the economic pocket book in their tourism industry. Believe me when you turn the screws and they all feel the pain, results start to happen. Remember how President Reagan handled Libya? "Power perceived is Power achieved". I hope you took the olive branch from my extended internet hand. P.S. I like your handle, President Reagan was our greatest President. NSNR
I have become somewhat shocked and disappointed in the behavior of American teenagers. I remember a young girl (only 18) that we got to know a few years ago at a religious retreat. She was one of those extremely popular ones, queen of everything, liked by the teachers etc. Chosen to give the senior speech.
She was also very, very religious. We were shocked to discover that she was sexually active with multiple partners. She did want to stop but simply couldn't. I could just see her going to a place like Aruba and getting in trouble.
We have been to several islands in the Caribbean in our travels. We stay in upscale all-inclusive resorts (which is what the place in Aruba sounds like it was) where the staff is extremely accomodating and friendly and we have never felt threatened. Having said that, there are places where I would not dream of venturing off the grounds of the resort unless it was in a large group, such as a tour. And I will be even more cautious in the future. Luckily for me, as a middle-aged woman, I would likely not be an attractive target for someone looking to have a 'good time'.
I find the lack of details regarding the supervision these 18 year-olds were under troubling.
Sorry, too many to read.
There is absolutely no evidence that the 3 guys in the car are in any way connected to the 2 guys charged with murder.
I share all this to point out that there are many good kids out there. The description of Natalee's accomplishments sounds like many of my children's friends. I find it hard to believe that a young lady would find it entertaining to go off and have sex with three strangers. The consequences are so great, the danger so real.
The teenagers I've been blessed to know are some of the most well behaved, responsible young adults imaginable. I can't fathom the pain Natalee's parents are experiencing right now. Prayers.
We're going to invade a friendly, democratic nation because you aren't familiar with Arubian legal procedure?
Where do they find you people?
This from a guy who defines himself as a Metrosexual. So, tell me Nancy, what color is your nail polish today?
Read my later posts. It has been 9 days since the girl disappeared. And, I think it is a mistake to expect much from the " authorities " in Aruba. So far, they haven't shown me much.
The police in Aruba are still holding one suspect, the other has been let go. The held suspect's mother is not very happy about this.
But both men have ironclad alibis...momma and girlfriend/wife. That other blonde woman approached by one of them a few months ago had a narrow escape.
They even have the gall to say, every once in a while, that she might have died 'accidentally', or run off.
They can charge them with murder/kidnapping as a stick to get them to admit white slavery....if they sold her.
Let me update, the reporter mispoke. The judge is still holding John and Jones on the charges.
We don't know what happened. Only one report of the dancing in the bar, and the three men who said they dropped her off at the hotel -- security cameras don't show that. There were more than forty chaperones along on this trip. Sometimes you need more than common sense and luck.
First, parents are moderately wealthy, they are both fine people. Now her Mother is aware of what is going on. They have not told her Father who is away on business a good deal of the time.
Her Mother is hearbroken over her daughter's sexual trysts. She will not do what it takes to stop it tho because she would rather her daughter be popular than do what it takes to end her affairs.
She would rather her go to the prom (she was queen btw) and stay up late than demand she be home right after it is over. Same for other occasions.
The sad thing is it is easy for an outsider to see what is happening but not really anything you can do.

Could you please provide a source for these statements?
