THE GOOD AND BAD O'REILLY

Posted on 06/01/2005 3:56:52 AM PDT by 7thson

We've got a Fifth Column right here at home. And now its getting stronger with the ACLU.

For all of you who gave up on Oreilly, he did a great job tonite on the ACLU scumbags.

The above is from Recovering Ex-Hippie on the post discussing the cameraman who caught the Marine doing his duty, saving his own life and his buddies lives. I wanted to speak about O’Reilly.

Did anyone else watch his program last night. I watch it because I do not think there is anything else on. Last night was a contrast on how good he can be and also how bad.

He did a segment on the ACLU and on the Lundy case down in Florida. He pointed out how the ACLU is extremely dangerous in America, how they are hurting us in the WOT. He also talked about the little girl – Lundy – down in Florida who was killed by the drug addled child molester and how the DA down there refuses to charge the others in the trailer home. When BO does stuff like this, he is spot on. He is good when he does this kind of stuff and I believe the outrage is genuine.

Then he talked about the Band AID thing, the book “The Survivor” about the Clintons, and about Tom Cruise and Scientology. This shows him at his worst. When talking about the music for AIDs thing he spouts off that the UN should organize this, providing the protection and the set-up. I sat there flabbergasted. Hasn’t this guy heard of the Oil for Food scandal? And he wants the UN to get involved in another charity? The Scientology thing was even worse. He made it sound like the cult was the second coming of Christ. Would not let any negative info get out on the air and did not even mention that one of his co-workers – Van Struesen – is a member of the cult. Then the thing with Clinton. Would not challenge the author of the book.

To sum it up, BO can be very good at times – when he is talking about crime and sedition. When he goes into politics, he sounds as dumb as a rock.

All my opinion, of course.

There is nothing that would make me want to watch that pompous, arrogant windbag Bill O'Riley

How funny. I couldn't find anything else to watch either and I had exactly the same reactions that you did.

No offense to you but I'd rather watch my lawn grow or paint dry than watch O'Reilly. I used to watch his show alot but like many TV hosts, success went to his head when HE became bigger than the stories he covers. Now he's a self-important, puffed-up blowhard--kind of a cable news version of John McCain.

There's nothing genuine about O'Reilly.

All that talk is ok, except that he ca;;s for indepedent commission. Why we need another commission after seeing all the comedy of 911 commission? I don't like his attitude towards swifties. Like he was begging for Kerry's interview, he already started begging for Hillary to come on his show.

Even Ludacris takes a proverbial shot at O'Reilly in his new song.

Speaking of Scientology, I read that book Dianetics last month and I could not believe the utter cr*p that is in that thing, and that`s if I could keep my eyes open long enough without falling asleep. It was literally like reading the ramblings of a madman, a Ted Kancinzki type schitzo trying to explain to himself why he is nuts by coming up with wacko theorys and plots that just go on and on and on and on, it just never ends.

I finally came to the conclusion that the reason he constantly harps on this thing called "the clear" is simply because L.Ron cannot think clearly. That`s all it is. He cannot reach a "clear" mind because he`s insane, and the whole book is about him trying to do that. That`s all it is, and all these people who follow it are only following something that was the mental hell of L.Ron Hubbard.

All these celebs like Cruise following it, I don`t know what their reason is, but I suspect it`s because of something similar to L.Ron. They can`t accept who they are, and they go crazy trying to change it by believing in this garbage.

O’Reilly is television journalism's version of McCain.

Very appropos.

In one way, though, McCain is worse. O'Reilly has no formal allegiance or obligation; Fox is not a conservative network, and while O's prominence is thanks to conservatives (due to those times when he is very, very good), it's no formal relationship (so he's free to be very, very horrid).

McCain, on the other hand, is a Republican. He owes his position to the GOP. He is where he is solely because of GOP support. He should be a Republican. When he does what he does the way he does it, it's treachery, on that level; it's betrayal.

O'Reilly is like McCain, but McMeMeMe is worse.
