Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham, in a just-concluded interview with Judy Woodruff of CNN's Inside Politics, somehow managed to compare his support of the filibuster deal with the bravery of our soldiers dying in Iraq.
He said: "Over in Iraq, we have soldiers dying and others being wounded, and all of them are subject to being shot at. They didn't have to volunteer to join the military. And I didn't have to change my vote to support this filibuster plan. But I did it for the good of the country."
Yes, he said it!
Sellout Seven member. Hopefully only one TOUR OF DUTY for this member of the RINOcrat party. Vote him out SC.
What an insult to our soldiers!!!
mush for brains.
he is obviously getting our emails.
When Graham began his spiel, referencing our soldiers in Iraq, I wondered where he could possibly be going. When he actually had the gall to analogize his vote to that of the bravery of soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, I was truly shocked. And appalled.
I should have know something was up when Jim Neighbors was his honorary campaign manager.
A "profile in courage" you are not, Senator.
I believe that arena is precisely where his problems lie.
Lindsay Graham was an Air Force officer. What does he know about soldiers dying?
I heard this sound bite, and wasn't sure if he said he was doing the compromise FOR the troops in Iraq, or if he was comparing HIMSELF to the troops. Either way, I'm thinking, Lindsay, what has the war in Iraq got to do with your actions in this matter?
(Are we sure it's the same Graham who led the Clinton impeachment, or was his body invaded by pods from outer space?)
When is he up for re-election? The boy's going down in the primary.
I can still hear their pleadings, just give the republicans a majority and we will set the court system right. What happened?????
In reality this is the biggest act of cowardice since...
Heck I can't even think of a bigger act of cowardice!
No kidding.
Um....yeah. It indicates that he's a LIBERAL (RINO alert!). Detachment from reality is the first sure sign.
And what makes him 'think' (term used loosely in HIS case) that our soldiers over in Iraq didn't ""have to volunteer""? They're ALL volunteers! Nobody drafted them or forced them to join up. (freakin duh)
Let's vote these morons OUT next time.
Nam Vet
Wrong, Senator Graham. When the going gets tough, our soldiers and marines don't desert their fellow troops and join the other side like you did.
I think it was pretty clear he was comparing his bravery to that of the soldiers. He was saying that they volunteered for duty - that they didn't have to join the military, and that by the same token he "didn't have to change his vote" but did.
