Clerics threaten holy war over alleged Quran desecrations

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan (Reuters) -- A group of Afghan Muslim clerics have threatened to call for a holy war against the United States in three days unless it hands over military interrogators reported to have desecrated the Quran.

The warning on Sunday came after 16 Afghans were killed and more than 100 hurt last week in the worst anti-U.S. protests across the country since U.S. forces invaded in 2001 to oust the Taliban for sheltering Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda network.

The clerics in the northeastern province of Badakhshan said they wanted U.S. President George W. Bush to handle the matter honestly "and hand the culprits over to an Islamic country for punishment."

"If that does not happen within three days, we will launch a jihad against America," said a statement issued by about 300 clerics, referring to Muslim holy war, after meeting in the main mosque in the provincial capital, Faizabad.

Instead of the US being asked to apologize, it should be the other way around. This is an unsourced report coming from Newsweek which US Military denies. Even if this is true, you riot and demand "Death to America" because of this? I say let's start the Crusade (word choosen on purpose) today and go to war against all people who wish us dead which I would define as everybody in favor of "jihad". When I see a picture in the paper of Iranian teenagers dressed up a suicide bombers with death to America signs, I wonder why we don't drone a bomb right on them.

I learned all I needed to know about Islam on 9-11-2001. Afterwards, there was dancing on the streets of the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia told us it was because of our support of Israel.

We need to hand over these stinkin liars to the mullahs so they can explain the whole story was B.S. Perhaps then little Mikey will refrain from spreading rumors as fact. The MSM rides again.

 

The Bush Admin should press charges against these idiots. How many times are we, the American People, going to let this happen? There needs to be penalties for inciting these people to kill Americans. Last time I was aware "aiding and abetting" is treason. Now if we could just get the justice department to get serious about this matter and hold them responsible they might get a clue. I sure as hell won't be puttin any money on it though.

 

How many of our own countrymen have been educated as to this falsehood. Will Newsweak print a retraction? Of course they will, buried somewhere in a little corner of their next issue, where the chances of anyone seeing it are slim to none. Will the MSM expose this as the fraud it is?
