HOLY SH!T! Thank god he is safe. I watched his speech last night. 100 feet was about the closest they allowed any of the crowd from what I saw. I never seen anything thrown when I watched it. Could it have been pre-positioned with the pin pulled but the trigger rigged to go off by some other action? How could the Secret Service miss this?

Fox News just talked about it. My guess it was a pro-Russian seperatist.

Just went to FAS, looks like the killing radius of a grenade is 15 ft. and the casualty radius is 45 ft.

A hand grenade was thrown landing 100ft. from President Bush and the Secret Service didn't see it? I don't believe that. Remember, we're getting this from NBC. Consider the source.

Controversy Swirls Apparently there was no explosion, and opinions strongly differ on what happened.
According to Yahoo/AP:
Guram Donadze, spokesman for the Georgian Interior Ministry, said no hand grenade was thrown close to Bush.

I was called by the President at 0500 zulu-time alerting me that there was a security threat and that a plane was on standby to take me and 4 members of the Delta force to Georgia. I told the President that I work alone.
I got up put on the gravity boots and did 500 ab crunches and cleaned my 9mm.

Looks like the Secret Service did their job in establishing a security perimeter far enough out. I hope. A grenade 100 feet away can still get lucky and get ya in the eye.
Well Mr. Bush thanks for showing courage.
