I voted twice for GW. There is a huge gap between his aggressiveness on Iraq and his non-defense of our borders. He is supine when it comes to Messico and it's ongoing invasion of the United States. America was once a proud nation full of people who were proud to live here. This birthright is being frittered away by our Washington DC permanent Federal gubbermint.

I care. Immigration, both legal and illegal, is the one issue that burns me up.
We need a 5 year moratorium on all immigration and we need to kick out the illegals.

People are enraged here in NC, where it's estimated 20% of our population are illegals--not just Mexicans, but including lots from the former Soviet Union and other such "white" nations. The moderates are convinced that Saint W is just a puppethead for the suits making fortunes off this situation, and the liberals are afraid to say anything for fear of sounding "mean." Conservatives are living in dreamland, pretending that their hero in the White House has "a great plan."
What this adds up to is my tagline below.

I have never - in all my adult voting life - been a single-issue voter. Not on a municipal, county, state, or federal level. But Tom Tancredo is about to get my support - and money - in '08 if the limp-pizzles in The Party Of Lincoln don't come up with a 'national' candidate to make me change my mind.

This is all about money. The elites at the top want cheap labor. It's either gonna come accross the border or they are going to get it in China. By whatever means, they demand profits and maintenance of their standard of living. There is no dosconnect. The problem with the people on top is that they are under the illusion that they are always going to be in charge. They never learn. Like Marie Antoinnete, the Hapsburgs, the Manchus and the Romanovs before them, they forget to pay attention to what goes on in the world outside of the high walls of their compounds.
We don't have an illegal alien problem, these are not "immigrants". They are colonists and they are not coming here to become Americans. They are here to conquer us just like the Europeans did to the Indians.

From one part of the article..."Some of them would be able to cut their costs with machines that would take up much of the slack. More jobs, in turn, would go into the industries providing the mechanization. Funny thing about the free market: It may not always be neat and orderly, but in the end it pays for itself. In fact, such advances would have been implemented long ago but for the fact that cheap labor from Mexico is available, so why bother?"
Absolutely correct.
Bringing in cheap labor to work in the fields is something we had to do 100 or 200 years ago, before the advent of modern machinery and farming techniques.
This is a new era...a new economy...the age of technology. Trying to build a modern highly competitive economy on the backs of poor, uneducated, culturally segregated labor is a total disaster in the making. It is the equivalent of modern day slavery. Yes China uses cheap labor...they are a totalitarian country...we aren't. Our 'compassionate' social services system..when coupled with the waves of illegal immigration will bankrupt us.
Better we should grow our economy by developing better machines...increased productivity...this is the way we became a superpower. We want wages to go UP for Americans..thats how we measure our standard of living..that is the result of a highly successful economy...not having half the laborforce operating at minimum or below wages....which is where unchecked illegal immigration will eventually take us.
Yes...that type of society is the democrats dream world. They will use it to build their socialist power base...never to be challenged again for power.

"And you know, if it comes down to the fact that a radiological device or a chemical or biological device is put in here by al-Qaida, and it's traced back to Monterrey, Mexico, or Mexico City, it will be impeachment. This deserves repetition. The statement is absolutely correct. George W. Bush will not Execute the laws of the land regarding Illegal Immigration, which he has taken an oath to enforce (Was this on a Bible? Did he swear to God?) and for this reason someone in the Senate should bring up the issue of impeachment NOW. (I am a Bush supporter).

Thank you for posting this. See nothing to argue with here and I believe most Americans are incredulous that this president is so unbelievably clueless on this issue
He is wrong for so many dangerous reasons it's almost traitorous.
And I went to rallies, saw him and Arnold, Hannity, Zell Miller etc.
Feel profoundly deceived and disappointed in our "guy".
But then, I guess we knew where he stood on this issue, and it wasn't with America!

Bush's failure to confront the issue of border control is the biggest failure of his Presidency. Conservatives in Congress need to stand up to him on this issue.
To: 45Auto
The ghosts of Presidents Johnson (both Andrew and Lyndon) and Nixon may soon haunt this White House. Huh??? I agree 100% that Bush is wrong on illegals. But Andrew Johnson, LBJ and Nixon? Bush would have to do a hell of a lot more terrible things to deserve such a black mark of history as this.
To: 45Auto
As usual, instead of doing what we ought to be doing, which is mining the border, the answer the saps prefer is turning the US into a police state where every citizen is tattooed with government ID. I think I'm gonna puke. The people in this country are too stupid to be saved.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Teddy Roosevelt (7 May 1918)
YES, I voted for Bush (reluctantly) more so to prevent a traitorous SOB (The Snake) from occupying the White House, then for GW.
And while I support some the Presidents policies and positions, woe be the one who dares tell me I CANNOT criticize himor anyone elsewhen I believe he is wrong!
I will tell that person the same thing I told Senator (RINO) McSwine last year when he suggested that everyone should refrain from raising Vietnam as an issue:
I told him he was a hypocrite and as far as I (and ALL other Nam Vets were concerned) we had EARNED the right to criticize Kerry,--and "whoever else" we wanted to, including The President,--or him, McCain!!!!
