The DC Chapter has begun its "7th Annual FReep Against Liberal Media Bias." The FReep is outside White House Correspondents Association dinner.
CSPAN Listing: White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. President George W. Bush and comedian Cedric the Entertainer speak. 9:30PM.
First update:
Still time for local FReepers to make this classic event! 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT at the southeast corner of Conn. Ave. and T Street, across from the Hilton where the White House Correspondents Association dinner will be held. Kristinn and company have my number and will be calling in with a few "Live Action" comments.
CSPAN definitely plans to show up for tonights FReep. They've already recorded a phone interview with kristinn.

Thanks (in advance) to both of you!
"A GOOD TIME WILL BE HAD BY ALL" ping!
Who won?
Dunno; I just do the threads. Somebody will be along to tell us, I have no doubt.
StayAtHomeMom has a second update coming shortly.
This weekends D.C. Chapter v. Code Pink and Liberal Media, Three Game Series has been threatened by rain delays. Last night was the Opening Game at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Both Gail Murphy and Media Benjamin came over to talk to our FReepers for about a half hour each.
But no rain delay tonight: The umpire just called Play Ball for tonights game. By now some FReepers should be on site with other FReepers still en route.
Im standing by for a phone-in play-by-play.
Free Republic's Faux News Awards First Place Winner (by a landslide):
CBS News for the Sixty Minutes II broadcast on Sept. 8, 2004 that used forged documents to attack President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service
First Place Prize, created by Tiggles (tgslTakoma): A clay diorama of a knuckle-dragging, PJ-clad FReeper at the computer, with a tiny copy of the famous "Post 47" hanging on the wall."
At last a different subject! Thanks for the ping. (Press conference in Albuquerque in about 30 minutes at the airport.)
I'm betting on our side :)
Media Research Center:
Dan Rather on Bill Clinton:
"I think hes an honest man."OReilly: "I want to ask you flat out, do you think President Clintons an honest man?"
Rather: "Yes, I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "Do you, really?"
Rather: "I do."
OReilly: "Even though he lied to Jim Lehrers face about the Lewinsky case?"
Rather: "Who among us has not lied about something?"
OReilly: "Well, I didnt lie to anybodys face on national television. I dont think you have, have you?"
Rather: "I dont think I ever have. I hope I never have. But, look, its one thing-"
OReilly, jumping in: "How can you say hes an honest guy then?"
Rather: "Well, because I think he is. I think at core hes an honest person. I know that you have a different view. I know that you consider it sort of astonishing anybody would say so, but I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things."
OReilly: "Really?!?"
Rather: "Yeah, I do."
OReilly: "See, I cant. I want my government to be honest across-the-board. I dont want people lying."
I'm so mad at myself! I completly forgot the dinner was tonight!
I've got company coming and will miss it!
Richard Gere, Goldie Hawn and Jane Fonda due there tonight! (along with Dick Cheney, Judges Scalia, Breyer and the QB from the NE Patroits)
Last year, actress Drew Barrymore filmed us for a documentary she was working on.
Two years ago, the Garofalo Awards we presented outside the dinner were featured on Fox & Friends.
This year, we will be presenting the Faux News Awards to those in the media who ginned up news and scandals with very little or no factual basis. The nomination thread for the awards will be posted shortly.
After the freep, we will continue our tradition of going to the Hilton's bar and watching the dinner on C-SPAN while having dinner and drinks.
We have a lot of fun at this one. This has become D.C.'s version of the Oscars: a star-studded night filled with wretched excess and pomposity.
Kewl! Freep them gernalists, gerbilists, whatever....
Amazing that the Code Pinks "talked" with FReepers for a half hour. In Cold War terms, seems that they know we have the Internet, so there is no 'Mutual Assured Destruction' of the TRUTH, no detente!
FreeRepublic: the 21st-Century MIRV -- now featuring Multiple independently targetable RESEARCH vehicles....
I have a question, why are Goldie Hawn, Richard Gere, and Jane Fonda going to the White House Correspondents Dinner--
What TV station, newspaper or magazine do they report to?
Thanks Howlin for starting this thread.. One year I want to be part of this with the FReepers..seems like a LOT of fun & what a group of offerings to select from this year.
Just getting ready to go out shortly but will check in later...
Have fun everyone!
It's the media's way of thumbing their noses at flyover country.
Same reason Greta invited Ozzie Osbourne to be her guest.
