More reports of dead people receiving ballots or voters receiving multiple ballots for Valley Medical Center's all-mail election have some voters again shaking their heads in frustration.
Four people reported to the Journal this week that their dead relatives were mailed ballots for the special election.
They joined another man upset last week when his son who died two years ago was mailed a ballot.
Already inundated by reports of election malfunctions in King County from last November's governor's race, voters are much more sensitive to any irregularities, especially when they show up in their mailboxes.

Could it be that they are sandbagging it to prove incompetance?
No....they really are that incompetent.
For some bizarre reason, I live in King but vote in Pierce. Some kind of agreement between the two counties to keep our entire subdivion together instead of splitting it.
Odd as it is, at least I'm spared having to wonder whether King County counted (or even opened) my ballot!
They actually mailed out the ballots with the outer envelope marked "Forwarding Service Requested". So, if you had moved out of the area, and were no longer eligible to vote in the election, they wanted to make sure that you got your ballot so that you could vote in an election that you were not eligible to vote in...
My head hurts.
We, who live in Pierce County, know how to count.
;->
I was impressed with Pierce. We picked up our ballots, dropped them off, no problems.
I thought that was illegal????
I'm really close to the line. Technically, I'm in Sumner, even though in reality I'm alot closer to Auburn than Sumner.
I thought it was too. If the voter no longer lives at that address, the ballot is supposed to be returned to Records and Elections. I thought it was state law that ballots are NOT to be forwarded. Apparently, King County no longer cares. Amazing.
I got this info about the "Fowarding Service Required" on the ballots from somebody that lives in that district. She saved the outer envelope and is raising a stink about it with the County Council. Not that it appears to have done much good in the past. They consider themselves to be above the law.
Sounds like you're in the 39th Leg district? It is actually not an uncommon practice when a legislative district spans 2 or more counties. Since there are 16 leg districts in King county, most people in King county never come across it. It is quite common in the rest of the state.
Would you know how I would go about getting on the Washington ping list? Is there a Seattle ping list? (I live downtown).
Actually, I think it means they meant "Forwarding Order" so the mail would be returned with a new address, but I'm not sure it works the same way in King Co.
[ sarcasm intended ]
No, 8th, Reichert's district.
Would you know how I would go about getting on the Washington ping list?
Try FReepmailing Libertina. I think she's the keeper of the Puget Sound Chapter. About a downtown list, I don't know. Good luck!
Sounds like you're right down the street. I'm in Lakeland.
My first introduction to King County led me to believe that, from day one, some individuals on the planning commission were high on something.
And the "new" pedestrian crosswalk signs (that were shot down) confirmed my beliefs.
Washington State sounds like dem paradise for stealing elections.
Sure they got to the auditor? It was either '96 or '98 a voter watchdog group called CLEAN caught the Former Pierce county election honcho and a big staff remarking absentee ballots in a warehouse on the tide flats that was provided by either Rick Bender of the Building Trades or the WEA, I don't remember which.
If my memory serves me correctly, I don't live in Pierce, never would, the county paid a big fine and the next election the gal who was the leader spun the issue and was reelected.
We handed them right to the elections office in Tacoma, so if they ended up in a warehouse somewhere in Aberdeen, well...
Nothing would really surprise me at this point.
