Does Free Republic and Jim Robinson ban those who disagree with them? asks The Conservative Voice.
Most all of the posters seek "Anonymity" when replying to the question raised on The Conservative Voice website: Is Free Republic Biased?
Nathan Tabor, Senior Editor and webmaster, moderates this running "Topic of the Day" and everyday discussion.
One "Anonymous" poster writes: "Re: Is Free Republic Biased? Biased? Well, since the site is dominated by paid party operatives and federal employees who allow no dissent from the Bush regime's latest political propaganda releases, you could say that it's more a solid, one way amen corner for the neoconservative cabal than a biased website."
Still another "Anonymous" poster writes:"Re: Is Free Republic Biased? They banned me for complaining about losing my career to outsourcing. They taunted and gloated with perverse kitty pictures, infantile cartoons, and guttural remarks that reveal their mentality. The flames fanned by their hatred are now licking at their heels."
ALIPAC also posts the subject: Conservative Website FREE REPUBLIC Mutinies over Bush Comments" and notes: "With reports coming in from around the nation of a split in the conservative base over the Bush amnesty and open borders plans, the nations most frequented conservative website erupted into a mutiny against Bush policies on Thursday. This article below elicited the response. Please take the time to read this article and the comments of many conservatives that are dismayed by Bush's statements about the Minuteman Project on FreeRepublic.com As many of you know, Free Republic had made previous efforts to control the debate by purging immigration reform users."
What seems to be a fledgling conservative based site, The Conservative Voice appears to seek readership through indexed forums dedicated to the Mother Bird herself, Free Republic. If you were wondering what happens to those little birds that fall or are kicked out of the FR nest (which I know you do not, but makes my play on words work); you might find some of them under the Free Republic Indexed forums over on The Conservative Voice.
Dang, they're way off base, I mean there are times I don't agree with the President, immigration and free trade are my biggest beefs, I'm getting sick and tired of the Republicans in Congress wimping out and I'm more of a social/military/foreign policy conservative although I'll admit I'm more of a moderate on economic, work and labor issues, but man, they are using a wide brush on us. (I'm glad my English teacher ain't here, she's hop on me for a run-on sentence B-)). Anyways, I see no control or banning here and there are times we disagree but most of us are still here. I know people have been banned for trolling and causing a ruckus though, but that's true in any forum. Like anything else, there is really no true monolithic conservatism, there are all kinds.
Yes. We tolerate dissent, but not the incorrect use of an apostrophe.
Arghhh! The apostasy of the apostrophe!!! Out with those blastfemurs. Rip out their semicolons!
They will all "settle" if the amount of aliomony/child support is high enough.
I thought so as well and then wait for some "sucker" or "web traveler" (like me ) to post it on FR. Mission accomplished! but hey..it may be the most hits they have had this year, so think of it as a "charity". Besides the forum seemed a little one sided in the reply factor; and as we are here to contribute to the balance factor by adding a dash of conservatism to the TCV, already directed in its' name-The Conservative Voice. ;)
Snicker! That'll teach you to argue.
There's a thread locked now (almost 5,000) posts because one poster slings insults like confetti, then posts to another depite an admonition from JimRob himself to quit stalking GOPCapitalist. IIRC, GopCap was suspended for a day for protesting the stalking and quoting JR's admonition to the mods. The only thing I could surmise, is that the belligerent in question is a friend of a mod. Heck, I know of another who was suspended for a week simply for pointing out the implications of Lincoln's Lieber Code.
On the flip side, the mods banned Walt, a somewhat unSTABLE poster that despired Bush, loved Lincoln and Michael Moore.
And I love the ZOT threads, and Lazamataz's History Of FR. I honestly think that if FR had not been here then Al Gore would have been President in 2000.
I'll be the first to admit that this place has changed over the past 5 years, but it's Jim's site, and if he or the mods ban someone, it's their prerogative.
"They taunted and gloated with perverse kitty pictures . . ."
I CERTAINLY HOPE SO!
This is not AnythingGoesRepublic.
There's nothing sadder than a good kitty gone bad.
No, actually there was a post yesterday when I began the peruse of the site (not me)...just it is not up yet but shows the last poster ..but I could not find yet what he has posted. The forum is ongoing however..as you will see when you move about the site.

So why is JR hitting us up for money? Where's my check? ;-)
answer: ...."its in the mail"..? Will you buy that? ;)
I want to get to the bottom of all this. Someone said Jim is selling asian brides, then someone said we live in palaces, and now I find that we're supposed to be getting paychecks. Where's mine? How come I'm always the last to know?
There you go, FRiend!

Paid partisan political operatives?? Is you crazy? Name 'em them if you are so sure? If I'm a paid partisan political operative then your mama is Helen Thomas.
No disent from the Bush politcal propagand agenda you say? Well, well, well, you will find hundreds in this forum that are pissed off at Bush because of his stance on illegal immigration and I'm sure that many (like me) would not vote for him again (if he could run a 3rd term) because of his postition on illegal immigration. We definitley agree with how he is fighting the war on terror (kicking Islamofascist raghead ass), but we don't agree with all of his positions. This forum is maily free thinkers who are intelligent enough to stand back and evaluate the issues on their merits. Are some biased in this forum? Sure they are but it's no different than any other online forum (take your pick). Nice try, but we ain't bitin'.
The left-wing have their forums to bash everything American, and they identify Free Republic as 'conservative', plus a lot of other derogatory unrepeatables, as well, which in effect are complimentary, coming from those pinko mentally disturbed lice.
I sent the Nigerians my bank account information. They sent me five bucks. Said I needed it more than they did.
