Terri Schiavo autopsy completed Her parents, husband planning separate funeral arrangements Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 1540 GMT (2340 HKT) http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/schiavo.ap

TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.

Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.

Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and Michael Schiavo spent Friday planning separate funerals for the 41-year-old woman, who died Thursday -- nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed

Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.

David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.

"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.

Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.

However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

As it seeps out, they are really unhappy here that 20% of the American population has living wills -- and thanks to their handling of Terri, millions more each day -- and want the very same life-ending that Terri ultimately had if they ever find themselves in Terri's condition.

Very interesting point.

Evidence?

Cindy Shook. She gave a court deposition testifying to their year long relationship and how she is still scared to death of Schiavo.

Does anyone out there know of a way to get Mark Furman involved? He certainly did a tremendous job in getting Michael Skakel convicted. I would like to see Mark uncover the truth about why Terri collapsed, and why Michael Schiavo so desperately wanted her dead.

Truth stands the test of time. MS has given himself enough rope to hang himself.

For me it's not hatred. It's wanting to see justice done to those who have murdered an innocent helpless woman.

Nothing wrong with justice.

"And yes, the doc did know she was boliemic. I don't know how or when Micheal knew it, could possibly be later, but thats what he sued over."

"And you think going from 200 to 110 is healthy by puking up everything you eat? Sorry, people die doing that all the time. She in no small part caused her own death. ( I consider her death to be 1990)"

From all the research I have done it is rare for someone with bulimia to die unless they are also anorexic, which no one ever said Terri was.

Terri showed low potassium levels which does not cause cardiac arrest but could cause respiratory arrest

High potassium can cause Cardiac Arrest

Snippet from: Dr. Hammesfahr report.
Ms Schiavo was in her usual state of good health until 2/25/90, when her husband reported that he was awakened from sleep approximately 6 Am by her falling.  He reports that she was unresponsive.

Paramedics were called, and aggressive resuscitation was performed with 7 defibrillations en route.

In the Emergency Room, a possible diagnosis of heart attack was briefly entertained, but then dismissed after blood chemistries and serial EKG's did not show evidence of a heart attack.  Similarly, a pulmonary or lung cause of the disorder was ruled out in the Emergency Room after normal blood gases and Chest X-Rays were obtained. The possibility of toxic shock syndrome was also entertained.  The diagnosis of the cause of her condition was unknown. Her admission laboratory studies showed low potassium level, markedly elevated glucose level, and a normal toxic screen without evidence of diet pills or amphetamines.

The abnormal potassium level and sugar level were found on admission to the Emergency Room and were successfully corrected by the hospital staff over the next several days.  The patient had a difficult hospital course with the development of poorly controlled seizures and prolonged coma state requiring, for a time, ventilator support.  However, the staff noted improvement, and it was recommended by several physicians that she be discharged to an intensive rehabilitation center.

Dr. Hammesfahr revealed that not only has Terri NEVER had a heart attack as widely reported in the major media, she also NEVER even had a cardiac arrest (her heart never stopped)! [she had arhythmias of the heart but not a "stopped heart."]
Complete Report of Dr. William Hammesfahr

Low Potassium
7.  Accept that low potassium, left untreated, can lead to respiratory arrest because the muscles that aid in breathing become weak.
Effects of Low Potassium on the Body

Definitions of Respiratory Arrest
A life-threatening condition during which the body's breathing system does not provide enough oxygen to sustain life.

High Potassium
OVERDOSAGE The use of oral potassium supplements in those with normal renal function very rarely causes serious hyperkalemia. However, overdoses with oral potassium supplements in those with normal renal function have been reported. For example, a 46 year-old woman ingested 31 grams of potassium chloride in a suicide attempt and developed severe hyperkalemia associated with life-threatening arrhythmias. The woman died two weeks later as a result of cerebral anoxia during cardiopulmonary arrest. Oral doses greater than 18 grams of potassium taken at one time may lead to severe hyperkalemia in those with normal renal function.
Potassium

Q. My friend has decided to take large doses of potassium for some reason or another. Now, she has a terrible case of constipation. What are the side effects of too much potassium? Thank you.

A. Your kidneys regulate potassium and depending on the levels in her blood and inside her cells, she is probably excreting the excess in her urine if she is taking a potassium pill. If however, the potassium were injected into her blood, it could cause her heart to suddenly stop (cardiac arrest).

Complications of Bulimia

Most studies report that patients with bulimia that is not accompanied by severe weight loss have a much better outlook than patients with anorexia. Some studies have suggested that between 60% and 80% of bulimic patients are in remission within three months of treatment. However, relapse is common and over half of women with bulimia continue to battle disordered eating habits for years. In one study, bulimia itself persisted in 10% to 25% of patients after treatment.

Direct Adverse Effects of Bulimic Behavior on the Body

The following are medical problems directly associated with bulimic behavior, including self-induced vomiting and laxative abuse:

Teeth erosion, cavities, and gum problems.
Water retention, swelling, and abdominal bloating.
Occasionally, fluid loss with low potassium levels. This occurs from excessive vomiting or laxative use. In severe cases it can cause extreme weakness, near paralysis, or lethal heart rhythms.
Acute stomach distress.
Problems in swallowing. This is an area of possible concern because of repetitive assaults on the esophagus (the food pipe) from forced vomiting. It is not clear, however, if this problem is common.
Rupture of the esophagus, or food pipe. (Cases have been reported with forced vomiting but are not common.)
Weakened rectal walls. In rare cases, walls may weaken to the extent that they protrude through the anus. This is a serious condition that requires surgery.
Irregular periods. (It should be noted that menstrual irregularities in patients with bulimia do not have the serious effects, particularly bone loss, as they do in patients with anorexia.) Long-Term Health Problems

Studies have been mixed on the long-term health consequences for bulimic people who maintain normal weight and who do not go on to become anorexic. Some report no major problems.

Go sit on a tack.

He made it perfectly clear he would never ever let them know where she was buried.

Mark Furman -- that's the guy! Thanks, I have been burning my brain trying to remember his name.

I agree. Someone is going to write a killer book about the killer. I usually don't buy crime books but this one I will buy.

In the article I found this most telling nugget:

No mention of the fact that she was dehydrated to death. And the media wonders why we don't kiss there fricking feet no more.

Please show me the law that says a probate judge can order the intentional starvation and dehydration (including any water or food, not just by tube) of an incapacitated person.

Did the judge order Terri to be starved and dehydrated, or did he order that the law should be obeyed and that her husband’s wishes – he had the authority – be carried out? The next of kin has the responsibility to curtail medical treatment when that treatment is no longer helping. If this was not the case no one would ever “die” – they (we) would all have our bodies kept technically alive with respirators, feeding tubes or even artificial heart-lung machines.

So “unjust hate” is bad, but “just” hate is good? For me, hatred is hatred. I don’t recall “justified hate” being condoned in the Bible.

I'm still waiting for you to show me the law. Again, Michael should have been removed as guardian when it was learned he was living with another woman and had a child with her. The guardian's job is to promote the best interests of the ward. Michael clearly was not doing that. We can argue and argue but you won't change your mind and neither will I. I believe in life and you believe in expediency. Have a good day.

One possible affair (the deposition could be false) and his current relationship does not make MS a serial adulterer.
