Terri Schiavo autopsy completed Her parents, husband planning separate funeral arrangements Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 1540 GMT (2340 HKT) http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/schiavo.ap
TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.
Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.
Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and Michael Schiavo spent Friday planning separate funerals for the 41-year-old woman, who died Thursday -- nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed
Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.
David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.
"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.
Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.
However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

A crucial component of recognizing the sanctity of contracts is the recognition that a breach of a contract by one party frees the other party of obligations.
When Michael violated and openly renounced his marriage contract with Terri, that should have ended any obligations she had to him and any authority he had over her. To say otherwise is to impugn the integrity of marriage as a contract.
Are you familiar with the statute of frauds concerning oral contracts? Which trumps - oral or written? If I tell my doctors, family, friends what my end-of-life wishes are and they all agree that's what I said, there probably wouldn't be a problem in court. However, if, after I have been incapacitated for seven years, and it is discovered by husband is living with another woman, is he to be believed against all others in a court of law? Is that what you believe the English common law is?
American Heritage fourth ed.
Semantics--I happen to think a fact is true and other usages can lead to ambiguity, as here. In any event we agree that this case is full of lies and half truths.
Wishes that are expressed in authenticable tangible medium should be regarded. Acceptable media would include handwritten documents, notarized printed douments, camera-original analog videotaped statements, camera-original motion picture films (most likely using sign language, cue cards, etc. since super8 sound film isn't made any more--only silent), etc. Wishes which are not expressed in tangible authenticable media should not be accepted if they would contradict a defalt presumption of life and there is any reason whatsoever to doubt their veracity.
Am I to suppose you also favor repealing the 400 years of Anglo Saxon common law which enforces oral contracts as well as written?
Oral contracts are only enforceable if both parties agree and continue to agree about what was said and what was meant. An oral party cannot be enforced if either party disagrees or is unavailable.
The last time I saw him, he surely was. :-)
In some circumstances, creating the ambiguity is called quibbling. Such, I assure you, was not my intent. Spokespeople and lawyers for both sides earn their bread and butter trading on it.
In any event we agree that this case is full of lies and half truths.
We absolutely do agree.
Terri went to mass the afternoon before she was "injured"
One is Catholic if born into a Catholic family? You're not Catholic, are you? If so, you better look that up.
Of course she was in heaven. Kind of you to acknowledge that, at least.
Terri received last rites. Her family requested a mass before her body was cremated. HINO refused. The family ended up winning that one.
A lock of hair in remembrance. It has nothing to do with the Catholic faith or relics. But it does have everything to do with Mikey being in control. IMO
Isn't there a time and place for protesting, such as the intentional starvation and dehydration of someone who can't speak for herself?
Let me ask you - if you yourself had been in a position to save Terri's life, would you have?
So ironic - the so-called winnner will have to follow darkness while looking over his shoulder. Idiot. I really don't think MS had the personal strength to follow through with what he did - I think Felos and his crowd had their tenacles in him.
Catchin' on yet?
Please show me the law that says a probate judge can order the intentional starvation and dehydration (including any water or food, not just by tube) of an incapacitated person. I believe you may projecting your own misgivings about end-of-life issues onto Terri's situation.
I also don't think the ME is going to determine anything.
I just found another article:
" The examiners office had said it would conduct routine examinations and look for any evidence of what might have caused her 1990 collapse."
http://www.columbiatribune.com/2005/Apr/20050403News023.asp
"Routine examinations" clearly mean they are not going to try to do anything, beyond the bare minimum.
I heard a Priest say today that the Catholic church has changed it's stance on cremation. As long as the ashes aren't "spread" around.
Interesting... now you make the peripatetic jump from human condition to unbiased faith. Please re-read my post to you- perhaps you will notice the inclusionary term of "unjust hate." If an "Ethics 101" is in order, please submit your request.
Does anyone out there know of a way to get Mark Furman involved? He certainly did a tremendous job in getting Michael Skakel convicted. I would like to see Mark uncover the truth about why Terri collapsed, and why Michael Schiavo so desperately wanted her dead.
What kind of information can you get from ashes?
Well, DUH! What parent wouldn't "start the litigations first" in order to save a child from a dastardly husband bent on murdering his wife in a most foul way?
Sheesshhhh!
Evidence?
Smacks of Terri as chattel. Has the potential to set the "women's
movement" back a hundred years!
