Terri Schiavo autopsy completed Her parents, husband planning separate funeral arrangements Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 1540 GMT (2340 HKT) http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/schiavo.ap

TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.

Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.

Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and Michael Schiavo spent Friday planning separate funerals for the 41-year-old woman, who died Thursday -- nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed

Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.

David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.

"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.

Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.

However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Medical examiners concluded an autopsy on Terri Schiavo on Friday, and prepared to release her remains to family members who continued to fight bitterly over the case of the brain-damaged woman who became the flashpoint for a nationwide debate over right-to-die issues. "The examination included routine forensic autopsy procedures, supplemented by full post mortem X-rays," the Pinellas County, Fla., medical examiner's office said in a statement. "Terri Schiavo's remains are ready for release to the establishment selected by the legally authorized person, for purposes of final disposition. "

Perhaps Michael should let his brother know that he is planning on placing her ashes in a plot in PA because he angrily told the News that Michael was going to spread her ashes somewhere in PA. Big differenc. Everything MS does not is to give the Schindlers the finger...He won't let it go...He wants to pay them back and pay them back some more...

Hmmm, interesting....wonder which court ordered that concession and why? You don't suppose someone is finally feeling some heat?

Greer issued the order. Maybe his conscience is finally getting to him.

You're so right. He did this for revenge against her parents, according to his interview with Larry King....his quote (when asked by King about letting her parents take care of her and MS getting on with his life) was "I don't want to, they made my life hell with all the litigation", so saying that he was making them pay for him having to spend so much of the money he'd been awarded on litigation instead of him "being rich" when she died.

The court is wrong here and being far more intrusive than the case which fell before them: determining her wishes regarding extraordinary means (defined in FL law as *including* feeding tube--don't like it, demand they & Congress change it).

While I hope they should more class, her parent's camp may well make asses out of themselves with knowledge of any memorial services he holds or her interment. I can smell the protests now with signs of "You Murderer!" and so forth.

his conscience

I question that he even has one....more likely he fears for his job with a petition for impeachment being know about now.

He just knew the news was all over him for the way he mishandled the case and didn't want things to look any worse for him. He obviously doesn't have a conscience.

Greer also denied a request by her parents for a lock of her hair and share of her ashes.

Now......what was that about greer's conscience ???

And they wonder why they get death threats?

Maybe Greer's conscience is getting to him

What conscience?

Greer also denied a request by her parents for a lock of her hair and share of her ashes.

Speaking from personal experience, I'd like to ask....are there any parents out there who have buried a child without keeping a lock of the child's hair??? Judge Greer: Where does the Constitution address denying the parents a lock of hair????

Greer has adequately shown he doesn't have a conscience. More likely heat from outside or from higher ups is being placed on him now. Too little too late.

He's not planning on running again, so I doubt he cares much about keeping his job.

I hope the location is not passed on to assorted nut cases and news media.

The kindly jurist would reply, "Where does the Constitution address granting the parents a lock of hair?"

David Gibbs III, attorney for the Schindlers, said the autopsy videotape, pictures and tissue samples will be able to be reviewed by medical experts if the family so requests. The autopsy report will be a public record except for the images.

Michael is in hiding because he is now running scared and will now have to hide the rest of his life, not because he is worried about protests. He never had any concern for Terri's well being before, why should he care now?
