Pretty speeches by politician's with finger prints all over her lifeless body is not what I want to hear.

Exactly. That is why the President should have kept his mouth shut and told his press secretary to remain silent. The man who defeated Sadaam Hussein and stopped Osama bin Laden appears to be craven when faced with a "half blind swamp judge", to use Michael Savage's term.

"I don't care how religious she was or was not."

My comment had nothing to do with Terri per sec but the religious right influencing Congress to get involved, when it was clearly a very unpopular decision across the country.

Considering how many medical and bioethecists march to the prodeath drummer I take everything they say with a large- very, very large grain of salt. For a very enlightening view of the state of bioethics please read Wesley Smith's " Culture of Death" The contrast between the Hippocratic Oath and the teachings of the new bioethicists should set off alarm bells for anyone who values the dignity of life in all its stages. Read what the doctor who insisted Terri was PVS ( Dr. Ronald Cranford) has to say about Alzheimer patients. Good thing Ronald Reagan never fell into his clutches. Pray for Terri and her family.

If you think, the development of a blender and a feeding tube are equivalent, I suggest some engineering courses.

No doubt the DUmmies are happier now than they have been since Clinton was acquited of the impeachment charges. Oh, well, they have won, big time.

I understand why you disagree - politically speaking, fractures can be devastating - but there are those who are looking at the big picture politically, and those who are looking at the big picture socially. That's how it's divided. And the issue is this: Jeb and W are not just politicians, they're SERVANTS. They're civil SERVANTS, not civil law enforcers. If their answer to serving the public is to allow a second-rate judge be the arbiter of life and death in a precedent-setting case, in my humble opinion, they're not doing a very good job of serving the people.

Clinton did it for an EVIL purpose.

Terri Schindler's CONSTITUTIONAL rights were violated. The BUSHES had a DUTY and an OBLIGATION to step in and DEFEND them. They missed a GRAND opportunity to STAND up to ROGUE Judges and the DEATH CULTURE, a good purpose. Far more damage is going to result from the Bushes failure to RESCUE Terri than would have resulted from her rescue.

When you have the ABILITY to rescue someone from a BRUTAL DEATH by STARVATION and DEHYDRATION, you do it!!!!

I'm sure that if either President W or Gov Jeb forced the release of Terri, it would have become a shooting war.

Ludicrous. A simple written order from either Bush would have saved Terri's life.

I talked with law enforcement on scene, and they laughed at the idea that they would ignore the order of the top law enforcement officer in the state.

I wish you guys would stop spreading this blatant lie around. It makes you look like a fool.

Your 'reasoning' is identical the the lawyers who have efectively negated the rule of law.

Government skools and mass media have effectively educated the sheeple that the judiciary is the law.

Blaming President Bush for Terri's Death, is like blaming FDR for the Holocaust because he didn't order the bombing of Auschwitz."""

No, it's like blaming FDR for lynchings in the South because he didn't order federal action to stop them.

AH - well, you may not have to worry about the religious right getting involved with establishment politics after this.

Be careful what you wish for.

The law was changed in 1999 to classify a feeding tube as an "extraordinary means of support" (I don't know the exact wording) by the Florida legislature, and Jeb Bush signed it. George Felos lobbied hard for it and got it. That is the true "Terri's Law."

I know that, but you'll notice that it was the 2004 statue that I posted. The provisions you describe are in the same chapter, 765. The feeding tube removal might, although I don't think so, be allowed, but denial of water is not. It was murder.

And yet, you're sitting on your ass in Texas.

Is there a point to your idiotic remark? How do you know what I am doing in Texas?

"Practically speaking, this is a good time for the President to punt."

The whole sad episode is a reminder of the Biblical truth: "PUT NOT YOUR TRUST IN PRINCES."

They won't protect you - even if R is after their name. Trust God and your own family, and your own means of self-defense. The politicians are in public life for themselves and their families, not for you and yours.

"I take everything they say with a large- very, very large grain of salt."

I rather doubt he concocted the fact it took 30 years to develop the feeding tube, hardly an ordinary device.

No, it's like blaming FDR for lynchings in the South because he didn't order federal action to stop them.

That analogy only works if the Mississippi state court ruled that lynching aren't murder as long as a majority of Klansmen agree they're being merciful to their victim.
