Exactly. That is why the President should have kept his mouth shut and told his press secretary to remain silent. The man who defeated Sadaam Hussein and stopped Osama bin Laden appears to be craven when faced with a "half blind swamp judge", to use Michael Savage's term.

My comment had nothing to do with Terri per sec but the religious right influencing Congress to get involved, when it was clearly a very unpopular decision across the country.
Considering how many medical and bioethecists march to the prodeath drummer I take everything they say with a large- very, very large grain of salt. For a very enlightening view of the state of bioethics please read Wesley Smith's " Culture of Death" The contrast between the Hippocratic Oath and the teachings of the new bioethicists should set off alarm bells for anyone who values the dignity of life in all its stages. Read what the doctor who insisted Terri was PVS ( Dr. Ronald Cranford) has to say about Alzheimer patients. Good thing Ronald Reagan never fell into his clutches. Pray for Terri and her family.
No doubt the DUmmies are happier now than they have been since Clinton was acquited of the impeachment charges. Oh, well, they have won, big time.
I understand why you disagree - politically speaking, fractures can be devastating - but there are those who are looking at the big picture politically, and those who are looking at the big picture socially. That's how it's divided. And the issue is this: Jeb and W are not just politicians, they're SERVANTS. They're civil SERVANTS, not civil law enforcers. If their answer to serving the public is to allow a second-rate judge be the arbiter of life and death in a precedent-setting case, in my humble opinion, they're not doing a very good job of serving the people.
Terri Schindler's CONSTITUTIONAL rights were violated. The BUSHES had a DUTY and an OBLIGATION to step in and DEFEND them. They missed a GRAND opportunity to STAND up to ROGUE Judges and the DEATH CULTURE, a good purpose. Far more damage is going to result from the Bushes failure to RESCUE Terri than would have resulted from her rescue.
When you have the ABILITY to rescue someone from a BRUTAL DEATH by STARVATION and DEHYDRATION, you do it!!!!

I talked with law enforcement on scene, and they laughed at the idea that they would ignore the order of the top law enforcement officer in the state.

I know that, but you'll notice that it was the 2004 statue that I posted. The provisions you describe are in the same chapter, 765. The feeding tube removal might, although I don't think so, be allowed, but denial of water is not. It was murder.
