Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
I bet Greer would of voided her will if she had one.
Oh, did I put in the wrong name? I thought it was Brian Wilson who's filling in on the weekends for Tony Snow.
Thank you for all you've been doing, Pollywog, and we know you and your family will continue to pray. We all have to walk away from out computers from time to time to take care of other responsibilities. Thank God there are numerous ones of us to carry on in the meantime.
Anytime a governmental office can be flooded with paper, it's a good thing! I think that's a good idea, along with the regular letters to the Governor's office.
But I think it would be a good idea if we checked with Scoop first, as I don't know if copywrites would be involved.
Scoop, is there any problem with this?
No... logically what follows is that this whole line of discussion is irrelevant to the question to which I responded (since you're evidently incapable of following a thread back, I hotlinked them). The original point was questioning whether Mrs. Schiavo would be denied, were she to get up out of bed...presumably able to eat on her own without the tube:
I was wondering today if the Lord healed Terri(all things possible) and she got up and walked out if she would be told she had to die and forced back in bed.Now do you understand the ridiculousness of your comments?
As for a baby, well, a baby has never been an adult who could have expressed wishes not to be hooked to a tube, and therefore would not be in the situation. It's a red herring...a strawman set up to distract from the real points being made.
Amen.
And the Constitution trumps the DCF.
I'm not sure. Maybe there's two Brian Wilson's that are reporters. However I'm still not going to the site. Others can make up their own minds.
I just finished my morning life support. I hope the grocery store doesn't decide to terminate me.
Logging off for a while. Wish me luck.
< /bitter sarcasm >
It's illegal to get a big shot of morphine instead of dying by simple removal of feeding/hydration tubes... but I still want that if I get in her situation.
The decision is to what Mrs. Schiavo would have wanted, not what she could have had 15 years ago. And that's why living wills are so necessary to prevent the COURTS having to be the ones to decide what they think would be in your best interests.
Lord, we ask you to keep Tuckrdout's Daughter SAFE! She is in anguish not knowing where she is or how she is. Please be with our dear friend's daughter...keep her safe, surround her with your protection and love and give her mother peace of mind and heart. Thank you Most High! In Jesus name!
Everything Demon Felo$ says is the OPPOSITE.
This is HORRORABLE, and ()*(&^^^&%^%#%$#@^&&%(!!!!!!
I don't want to get banned! In less than 2 hours EASTER arrives in Jerusalem, I wonder if that's when Jesus takes her HOME to Heaven, and see her two cats she loved so much, and be with GOD , away from this HELL Hole...
Theresa Marie Schindler is her REAL NAME.
Lord, please....
Amen
What I was saying is that Jeb won't help Terri and never intended to because he signed the 1999 law on removal of hydration and nutrition from severely disabled patients. The media would say that Jeb was violating his own law, and he could not withstand the scrutiny. I don't think he will ever be President.
It is my understanding that the Schindlers cannot erect a monument to Terri in their own cemetery plots. MRS will have total rights over her cremation and scattering of ashes. They cannot acknowledge her without permission from him, as controller of the estate. And of course he is giving them no permission.
And people say this is NOT NaziAmerica.
I agree.
Felos and the press are bonding. How special.
Felos did tell Jeb that he has no power to do anything. As if he needed to. Greer took care of that.
I'm beyond disgusted

Yes, but he did not sign a bill that would deny food and water by mouth. Judge Greer did that, and only Judge Greer did that.
I'm a Catholic too. Terri's First Amendment rights have been totally trampled upon.
It's my guess that they would wait until just before death to anoint her. Receiving Holy Communion would be out of the question at that point, I would think.
I'm really at a loss for words right now. The injustice, and corruption of this case is unfathomable. All we can do is just exactly what we *are* doing. And we must remain watching and waiting at the foot of the Throne of Mercy.
"Under" ... Latin "Sub"...as in subverting it.
