Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
Wait A minute!
If this was illegal before Terri's collapse, THEN SHE COULD NOT HAVE POSSIBLY "WANTED" to have her feeding tube pulled!
Have the lawyers appealed on this basis?
Who was here the night before last? Remember when we all suddenly felt the need to sing hymns....at the same time? And someone mentioned that the people praying outside the hospice were singing too. It was powerful! I am but a baby Christian, so I knew this was from the Lord, but had never experienced anything like it before. I found this scripture passage in Epesians today:
Ephesians 5:19-20
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You ignore logic. It wasn't until 97 that Schiavo "remembered" his "wifes" wish to die. How convenient for him that the other 2 witnesses to her "wishes" were also named Schiavo. Where were they during the malpractice trial? Why didn't they cry about Terri's wish to die then? They forgot too?
And you aren't paying attention to law. It was ILLEGAL to deny hydration and nutrition in 1990. NO ONE would have had it in a living will or expressed a desire to dehydrate to death. It was unthinkable. Food, by whatever means would be used, was normal care.
determined that Mrs. Schiavo wanted pointless maintenance of her body in such a state,
You ignore Dr Cheshires' findings and Atty Barbara Wellers statements. What if they are correct and she's not just a body? This woman did not get due process. She got ONE judge who decided what was admissable evidence and what was not.
Terri has never had an MRI or PET. Only a CAT and that was years ago. The court would not allow any new testing. I wonder why.
I find it fascinating that you can speak to her preferences and have her on a first-name basis. Did you talk with her about irrecoverable states and end care, or are you just interpreting this from knowing her?
Again insults and sarcasm. Debate honestly or don't respond.
"Does Paul strike you as being a bit light in the loafers?"
That is not very nice.
Rest good.
why bother with people that just don't get it and never will?
Amen!

GOOD POINT!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!! I will talk to you later SeasideSparrow!
many=man..sorry.
What's not nice?
That Brother Paul is light in the loafers, or that I observed that he seems light in the loafers?
He's probably a great guy.
I have no idea. I'm lost. :)
Psalm 70
1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me!
Make haste to help me, O LORD!
2Let them be ashamed and confounded
Who seek my life;
Let them be turned back[a] and confused
Who desire my hurt.
3Let them be turned back because of their shame,
Who say, "Aha, aha!"
4Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
And let those who love Your salvation say continually,
"Let God be magnified!"
5But I am poor and needy;
Make haste to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O LORD, do not delay.
Same thing as I said yesterday: Jeb and his minions are calling us "emotional," like WE have a problem. Like that's going to stop us!
Yes, Svd, I was here, and it was a awesome moment. Last night in the Good Friday service the thought came to me of how the Children of Israel were commanded to " SING" . They went singing and SHOUTING around Jericho and the WALLS CAME DOWN.......very good point. By the way, You sure show a lot of Christian maturity for a babe in Christ!!*hugs*
I called the DCF numbers and got a screeching sound in my ear, each time, maybe 10 minutes ago. I guess they are afraid of us.

seems as though greer grandfathered her in

I was here when you all were singing, only I came in in the middle of it all.....and I thought everyone was praying so I joined in with prayer. I did not know those at the hospice were singing too!
It was a very, very special and meaningful moment being here then - everyone's heart was moved by God's Spirit and the focus on God's love and goodness was incredible.
If I recall a troll slipped in and got really baffled by it all.....it seems.
Make haste, O God, to deliver Terri!
Make haste to help her, O LORD!

Let them be turned back because of their shame,

And let those who love Your salvation say continually,
"Let God be magnified!"
But Terri is poor and needy;
Make haste to her, O God!
You are her help and her deliverer;
O LORD, do not delay.
