Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
The same one who said the other day that as a Christian Terri would want to be with God .... on the senate floor.
on hold with dcf now
I give anyone here permission to disseminate exactly what I posted here---the link, the attribution and the first two paragraphs from the article.
And as we have seen again those of evil have a greater desire to succeed than do the righteous.
Get real?
What did I post that isn't real?
thanks---comes with the territory and the job---been shot at a few times in the past, my house shot at twice by a judge (first time I witnessed him doing it from the driveway of the state police station he owned) had the rear window shot out of my vehicle, the bullet hole being where my head would have been had I been it( Again by the judge). All that matters right now is that Terri lives and those responsible for all these years are brought to justice
"The Decision Is In... March 8, 2005 Judge Dorothy Vaccaro has ruled in favor of the Humane Society of Pinellas County (Florida) concerning the custody of the remaining eleven Siberian Huskies and two cats. The dogs are under going spaying and neutering surgery as of March 8th, thanks to a number of our local Veterinarians and the adoption proceedings will get under way immediately. We would like to thank every for their concern since we first removed these animals from deplorable conditions on December 21st, 2004. I would also like to thank The Siberian Husky Rescue of Florida, Inc. for their help and support. And a special thank you to our wonderful staff and volunteers for their unselfish dedication towards the success of these animals. "
Yes. It was "Mad" King George III. He used the address "My Lords and Peacocks". A true moonbat. There certainly are similariries. "The court has ruled!"
Just got off phone with DCF...they forwarded my response to the county.
If someone is in the county, they can dial 911 and have a ready response.
Interesting article, American. I think you should send it to Matt Drudge.
Your middle name would be Indiana, by any chance??
Specifically, no one asked Terri if she would want to be cut off from food and water even though her parents would have to watch at least the physical effects of starvation and dehydration. These types of questions are wrestled with when people actually draw up living wills. That is why Terri's comments of years ago should not be controlling.
I guess it must be a pretty terrible thing to see someone dying of dehydration. What I think you're saying (correct me if I'm wrong) is that Terri wouldn't have wanted her parents to see her dying. Wouldn't that also apply to removal of a ventilator, if she were dependent on one?
My understanding of Terri's past statements is that she didn't want to think of herself as a useless lump of flesh hooked up to tubes and wires, as her grandmother was. And referring to the man in a coma on the TV show, she said that if that ever happened to her, she would want the tubes and everything taken out. Living as a vegetable was probably her definition of a living hell. If she could see herself as she is now, she would probably rip out that feeding tube herself. At least that's my opinion.
There's another Free Republic thread on the subject of living wills that made some excellent points. Terri Schiavo: Living wills can't cover all possibilities In it, a health care scientist says at the end "We really need to emphasize that there is a right to refuse treatment," Fagerlin said. "It would be a terrible outcome of this case if we don't let surrogate decision-makers make decisions to remove treatment." I'm afraid exactly that is going to happen, though.
Great post and points.
I'd love to see you forward the url to the site and your e-mail to Sean Hannity and all the rest.
It raises some interesting questions.
that is an absolutely viable and superb idea. In that there is medicare fraud as well as medicaid fraud involved in this case, a qui tam case, she should be immediately secured as a material witness but then as I've been saying, in that she was subpoenaed by Congress to be a witness for a Congressional investigation, President Bush, USDOJ, US Attorney's office has the power to take her into the federal Witness Protection Program. The most pressure should be put on the lawyers though and Bush to get that subpoena issued so that the FDLE agents can be protected and give their testimony to a judge to get the injunction issued.
Isn't it fascinating that the Bible implicity says that those who love life love God and that those who love death hate God? I think that's painting a line in the sand and really gives Christians an idea who is and who is NOT born of the Spirit.
My biggest concern: since when is food and water considered treatment? We are not talking about passive euthanasia where someone refuses cancer treatment or a respirator to breathe for them...we are talking about active euthanasia...starving someone to death.
"Do ya think one call is enough to do it?
They are painfully fighting for her life."
I wish I knew the answer
Amen to that. But your safety is as important. Prayers for you.
AMEN!
This is the Psalm we said at church last night. #22. Very fitting in light of what FV posted earlier about what went on in Terri's hospital room yesterday evening:
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?
O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, and am not silent.
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the praise of Israel.
In you our fathers put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
They cried to you and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by men and despised by the people.
All who see me mock me;
they hurl insults, shaking their heads:
"He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him.
Let him deliver him, since he delights in him."
Yet you brought me out of the womb;
you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast.
From birth I was cast upon you;
from my mother's womb you have been my God.
Do not be far from me, for trouble is near
and there is no one to help.
Many bulls surround me;
strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
Roaring lions tearing their prey
open their mouths wide against me.
I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
you lay me in the dust of death.
Dogs have surrounded me;
a band of evil men has encircled me,
they have pierced my hands and my feet.
I can count all my bones;
people stare and gloat over me.
They divide my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.
But you, O LORD, be not far off;
O my Strength, come quickly to help me.
Deliver my life from the sword,
my precious life from the power of the dogs.
Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
save me from the horns of the wild oxen.
I will declare your name to my brothers;
in the congregation I will praise you.
You who fear the LORD, praise him!
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
For he has not despised or disdained
the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
but has listened to his cry for help.
From you comes the theme of my praise
in the great assembly;
before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows.
The poor will eat and be satisfied;
they who seek the LORD will praise him-
may your hearts live forever!
All the ends of the earth will remember
and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the LORD
and he rules over the nations.
All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him-
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
They will proclaim his righteousness
to a people yet unborn-
for he has done it.
The PVS bit started with MS's handwritten note in the plan for rehab submitted to the court in 1991, before medical or legal determination of same, the California trip, the shunts, Felos, etc.
I made a call. Hope it does the trick. Hope some social worker is willing to defy the system.
