Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

>>Philadelphia Consolodated Insurance Agency bought it.

It would be my guess this is part of some scheme to 'launder' the policy to make it NOT look like it was written on Terri's life by Jodi. I bet there WILL be a policy, but as to who originally 'sold' it, that info will be conveniently lost.

i assume that is YOUR typo, not theirs right? (Consolodated)

Don't take this personally anyone - because these words are not meant for you, but these judges have got to be luvin' all the toe kissin' going on!

Everyone's hanging onto their every word as though they're God - waiting for some miraculous pronouncement that will save Terri.

Heck, if I didn't know better - I'd almost think the other two branches of government don't exist!

Even the thought of daring to influence one of these judges is forbidden! They are above God himself not needing to listen to any one of us, let alone the original intent of the Constitution.

Ah yes, it took America a couple of centuries to once again lose her independence to a robed bunch of kings!

Ain't tyranny fun?! Or is this terror? I keep getting the two confused.....

Incredible. I bent in prayer during a Ten Commandments rally on the steps of the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. and we all prayed - "God bless this honorable court."

Somehow.....I think God is not quite looking at this bunch as very honorable.

But hey, we'll all keep on saying it.....out of respect for their tyrannical power maybe? Obedience and all that. I mean, you know, Justice Roy Moore disobeyed a black-robed fellow, right? We don't dare disobey a ruling even if the judge rules outside the confines of the Constitution.

Did Pres. Bush ever comment on that, by the way? I'm not sure I heard him say a thing....

I've had ministers tell me that they don't speak out about abortion because it's "legal." Well, well. Maybe with any luck at all - euthanasia will become legal after this court precedent is set.

Evidently, a judge in today's America has more clout than God himself.

God bless this honorable court as they ruin our beloved America while the other two branches stand by helplessly wringing their hands.

Another sad day in America.

I think that if Terri was my sister/daughter I'd be tempted to grab an AK-47 and hole up in the room with her.

TEMPTED?

If she were my relative, two judges, and ex husband, a couple of liars, I mean lawyers, and a few dozen cops would already be on ice.

Well, I won't fight with you about it on this thread, but I will say this...I had the misfortune of delivering a friend's aborted baby that didn't take right away. The paramedics didn't come. Until you see a perfectly formed little human boy with all its skin burned off you don't know what an abortion is all about.

I could never, under any circumstance make a case for abortion. A baby is as human and vulnerable as Terri is right now...the killing of ANY innocent human being is heinous and cannot be defended.

Suppose a mother of three born children plus an unborn child of eight-week's gestation was found to have metasticizing cancer. Doctor's prognosis was that chemo may save her if issued immediately, but it would be unlikely the woman would live six months otherwise.

What course of action would you suggest?

I can see two possible courses of action: forego the chemo and hope to live long enough that the baby can be delivered alive, or take the chemo and hope to avoid leaving her three born children motherless, recognizing that the chemo would certainly kill the unborn child.

In such a situation, I don't think I could fault the mother for making either choice.

IMO, if terri is given another chance they MUST get a new lawyer.

How could he know how to file before the bill passed?

As I understand the NOTICE of appeal is the brief. Gibbs told me on Sunday that he got a call at 11:00pm on Saturday and was told to file a BRIEF with them by SUnday at NOON! Which he DID!

TOday he DID FILE THE ACTUAL APPEAL!

We know nothing yet, sissyjane, except something has been entered. NCLaw441 was able to go on their site and get information, in shorthand version. IMHO, they must fax it to the Judge in Florida, who was probably comfy at home drinking hot toddies, who had to come into Court upon his phone call and then has to read through the documents.

We're, in the meantime, guessing and waiting.

And Terri's dying.

It is instructional to go and read the Act as passed by the congress (http://thomas.loc.gov).

Gibbs had to plead a civil rights cause of action because that is what the law said. The court had to try the case de novo without regard to the rulings of the state court because that is what the law said. You are trying to argue that Gibbs pleadings gave the judge no option but to rule one way, when the law gave him no option but to try the case.

Furthermore, I suggest you actually read Whittmore's decision. It is the most circular piece of reasoning I have seen from an otherwise intelligent educated individual and I am amazed at how many attorneys here don't see what is so obvious. Whittmore's decision that Terri's civil rights were not violated is based on the findings of the trial court, findings which the law required him to set aside.

IOW there is no way that the judge could reach a decision in this matter than to try the case.

Doesn't Terri need to show up in D.C. on Friday? She was asked to appear before a Congressional Committee on that day.

The 8 hour delay is what Schiavo is asking for in his brief, should the parents win this round....as in a delay of reinserting the feeding tube.

I have a question only because I don't know the answer and someone on another forum asked me. On the doctors opiions is the line pretty clearly drawn regarding her condition between the doctors the parents hired and all the other doctors?
