It's hard to believe that Crier (and I never watch her) does not know the details of the Schiavo case, but she may be ignorant of the facts. She may not even know that MRS has been an adulterer for at least eleven years.

Oh to dream of killing defenseless invalids by starving them to death and wrapping oneself in State's Rights like the slaveholders did.

What delicious irony

total parenteral nutrition ?

I have a friend whose husband became a quad, after diving off a ski boat into 3 ft of water.
It's been tough, but she's stuck with him, and taken care of him. She is quite a person. He's has actually regained some upper body feeling, and some use of his arms. He can type on a keyboard now, and feed himself.
There is always hope. Look at that woman who just woke up out of that coma, after what; 10 years or so?

They're all part of the judicial racket, so they cringe at the idea of the people taking back power from the judiciary.

Yep, it is a mafia. We need a democratic court system, if only for 6 months to purge the corruption.

Thank you for posting that thread--I won't tell you what it says--I would color the description with my own bias I'm afraid--

Try to read it, if you have time, not to try to change your mind, but because Mark is pointing out aspects of this case re: the different functions of the three branches of government, and which one of the three should be the arbiter of such cases---

Thanks again for the link!

No, you don't see the danger here. If the Fed gets involved, they will need to produce a result.

Yeah, the instructions are, don't starve/dehydrate someone to death just cause you want to. That person must have made it clear instruction not to have it done or to allow a surrogate to make that decision.

He adequately showed cause for the belief that Terry would have signed a living will that would have prevented at least 10 of these past 14 years in the hospice.

That is absolute nonsense. Show me the money that she wanted it, not what he wanted nor some double whatif. It must be clear and convincing. That is in the Florida law.

Not at all, Cold Heat, there was no due process.

Yeah, that was the same idiotic argument i heard coming from Delay and Frist.

I gotta tell ya, if the Feds can do this over one woman in a 10 year old case that has been litigated ad nauseum, then they can do it anywhere, anytime and to anyone.

I think a whole bunch of people are so blinded by religion based indignant feelings that they cannot see the error in what they do.

Believe me, I will point it out to them, come election time. They are in for a big surprise.

I can definitely see the corollation to slavery--

I think the congress is trying to get this to the Federal level because Terri's CIVIL rights are being ignored---

and slavery was abolished becaused it was against their civil rights--

It is my belief a husband/wife trumps parents.

But what happens in cases where your betrothed "turns away", and in their own interests, acts against yours? History is more than replete with (often horrorific) examples. IMO, the husband-wife relationship is far more transient than the parent-child relationship (excepting the inevitable end of life due to aging). JMHO.

Terri's would be murderers, like the slaveholders, will never agree. They are obsessed with killing her. They must be completely defeated with no hope of every rising again.

Terri should be handed over to her parents providing they take care of her in their home, with their money.

Of course, that half a million spent by the HINO from Terri's Medical Trust on lawyers trying to KILL HER might have helped, but it's gone now.

It was.

This is best layed out in the court summaries.

I guess you failed to read them.

oh, that is right, the judge, the witnesses and all that are evil members of the culture of death!

Aaaaaaaack!

I am out of here for the night. I will get back into the fray tomorrow.

Yes, that's it. Total parenteral nutrition.

My son was also a diving accident. Happened in 1987 when he was 16.

After a year in the hospital, and many medical complications, we took him home and gave him TPN. Then in 1991, he lost his kidneys.

We used peritoneal dialysis, at home. Hooked him up every night for 12 hours.

Unfortunately, we lost him due to doctor error in 1993. He was 22.

I just tried to read it but think I'm too tired :-)

I just don't get it. That's another matter that I'm really conflicted about...the government's involvement.

I think this is a big clash between the judges and Congress. It's long overdue and needs to happen. Just not sure this is the case it should be happening with. Although when I hear about the constitutionality of life, that is the perfect argument, perhaps the best one.

Will have to give it another read tomorrow. Talk with you later.

You will spill blood to be able to kill a defenseless woman in a hospital or defend the right to hold slaves ?
