Now, if governors told SCOTUS that their ruling was illegitimate and carried no influence on their state perogatives, now THAT would get the attention of SCOTUS.
Black robes and betrayal -- We need to hold these officials accountable through impeachment, recall, nullification, interposition and arrest where necessary.
CNN: US SUPREME COURT: ALL DEATH PENALTY CASES WITH JUVENILE KILLERS THROWN OUT! -- Two of the "children" released from death row by this ruling are the murderers and rapists Perez and Villareal who raped and murdered 15 year old Elizabeth Pena and 14 year old Jennifer Ertman in Texas about 12 years ago. They not only raped them but violated them in every orifice before beating them to death. Then they called the girls' parents and asked if they knew where their daughters were. Nice kids that SCOTUS has let off the hook.
I googled the victims' names, and the accounts of the case turned my stomach.
Men in Black is a must-read (Rush Limbaugh) -- "Most recently, Levin writes, 5 current activist justices have announced that, when they see fit, they'll use foreign law and foreign court rulings as guideposts to making their decisions, a repudiation of the constitution's mandates and limitations, and rejection of popular sovereignty."
Exactly. Jonathan Turley, an HONEST liberal, who is a Constitutional scholar, said the same thing on Fox News tonight.
Impeachment Of Supreme Court Justice(s)? -- Technically, a judge of any federal court can be impeached on whatever charge a simple majority of the House of Representatives will vote, and can be convicted and removed on whatever charge a 2/3 majority of the Senate will vote.

We had thought O'Connor was getting bad, but with recent rulings, Kennedy has proven to have become far worse. It seems he is always with the liberal wing of the court anymore.

Kiss Your House Goodbye (From now on no one's property is safe...) -- I am as outraged at this decision as in anything that has transpired in politics in the last 30 years. I can guarantee you that all over the country the developers are looking at properties to take even as I type this. Your home has a beautiful view. It's otherwise a modest home. Rich publicly connected dude gets your house condemned so he can build a nice expensive house with your view - all in the name of the public good... He's paying 10 times the property taxes you know...

Property Rights Died Yesterday (Bob Lonsberry) -- the proposed major highway/pipeline/communications project down here in Texas is going to be affected by this ruling. A LOT of farmers/ranchers were vehemently opposed to having their land taken buy eminent domain, but now will not have a legal basis to resist

The Consensus is Anger, Time for a Call to Action! (Eminent Domain Ruling) -- So...what action? Local action, as always. Are the idiots in your state or town trying to take people's property in this way? Throw the bums out. It's that simple. Start with your city, then your county, then your state. The feds aren't coming for your house. It's your elected neighbors who are doing this. So stop them.

I give up. I'm staying home next election day; voting does no good at all. Either Republicans don't have a clue how to fight for their cause, or they've coldly decided to write conservatives off and veer to the middle.

My letter to my Senators (re: Flag Burning, Eminent Domain ruling, and Freedom) (VANITY) -- The recent ruling of the Supreme Court has many people more than just worried. Many fear for the one of the very things they hold most dear, their homes. Homes some have worked a lifetime for, raised children in, had holidays, grandchildren even generations, only to have a private developer come in under authority of the city, take your land, raze your home to the ground and build a shopping center. All under the auspices of tax revenue. The sad part? It is completely legal, based on a ruling from the highest court in the land.

"Either Republicans don't have a clue how to fight for their cause, or they've coldly decided to write conservatives off and veer to the middle....." orrrrr the Repubs and the Dems are more alike than you think.
In the end they will look out for each other before they look out for us.

The Death of "Just Compensation" -- That point was made by a caller to Rush's show today and it is exactly right. What happens if you acquire a parcel of land to put a store on and someone makes a much richer offer for the same ground, the city council can use eminent domain to take your ground away from you. Nasty stuff all of this is!
