Are you as fed up as I am over the bad decisions being handed down by the SCOTUS and throughout the judiciary? Are you tired of judicial activism? Are you tired of being ruled by the men in black robes? Is it time to remind the SCOTUS that We The People ARE the final arbiters of law and justice in this land?
Are you fed up with the weak-kneed Republican Senate? Are you ready to drop the nuclear option on the obstructionist Democrats? Are you fed up with Specter and the RINOs?
Is it time for us to rise up and march on Washington again? How many of you are willing to join me in another march to D.C. to straighten out these yahoos and remind them of who's in charge in this republic?
If they can do it in Lebanon, we can do it here!!

This increasing tendency by SCOTUS to include the mores and laws of other nations is starting to freak me out. As much as I may disagree with some of their interpretations of the U.S. Constitution, this inclusion of world view of law and custom is bordering on sedition. I thought we at least had the Supremes "thinking" about our Constitution during their deliberations, if not the executive and legislative branch. Unless this is stopped, time may be quickly running out for our sovereign republic.
That said, JimRob has a thread here calling Freepers to arms for a "March" on DC to protest the latest SCOTUS decision regarding juvenile death penalty and other judicial fiat. Unfortunately, the Supremes are almost impossible to impeach in today's political climate.
So what is the answer? Specifically, target the Senate? Forget the current POTUS, he nor any other president would ignore Supreme Court decisions due to potential political suicide. Ideas?
As soon as someone sets a date I'll call my congressman and request his presence at the march on the SCOTUS. If he turns me down.....
I voted I would try to come because we would have to rent a car and drive from Louisiana. There would be gas money, food and lodging involved. That takes some juggling. Hell, I got stuff I can pawn. We'll be there.

Put a firm date on the march, and the numbers will skew to the probable.
I can't spend a month in Arizona.

Ummm...speaking of the SCOTUS, anyone under 16 cannot get the death penalty due to a 1988 ruling on a 15 y/o...
JUSTICE STEVENS, joined by JUSTICE BRENNAN, JUSTICE MARSHALL, and JUSTICE BLACKMUN, concluded that the "cruel and unusual punishment" prohibition of the Eighth Amendment, made applicable to the States by the Fourteenth Amendment, prohibits the execution of a person who was under 16 years of age at the time of his or her offense.And I sincerely doubt that this particular ruling will ever change, mainly due to the "national consensus" argument. The "kids" we are talking about are 16 or over who are certified to be tried as adults on a case by case basis, based on the severity of the crime committed. IOW, chill out, we aren't advocating executing 5 year olds : )

Thanks. That confirms my post regarding the cutoff being age 16, though I wasn't definite on specifics as your post was.This age 18 cutoff for murder is just BS, just like Scalia, Rehnquist and Thomas said in Scalia's written dissent!
I can live with 16. That's the accepted law / norm. This cutoff at 18 is BS, and one day should be overturned. Scalia's right. The leftists are legislating from the bench. They're ignoring accepted laws, norms, pracitices and PREVIOUS LEGAL RULINGS!
It may be time to impeach judges that legislate from the bench.
But .. if they get enough support for the "resolution" - they will be able to judge that the public is wanting the court to be reigned in - and not allowed to use INTERNATIONAL LAW instead of OUR CONSTITUTION.
I believe this is a trial balloon - so to speak - to test if the public is paying attention.
WE ARE - AND WE SHOULD BE TELLING OUR CONGRESS PEOPLE WE ARE.
