Martin Scorsese for THE AVIATOR (Miramax)
Clint Eastwood for MILLION DOLLAR BABY (Warner Bros.)
Taylor Hackford for RAY (Universal Pictures)

I haven't watched the Oscars since George C. Scott won Best Actor for "Patton" in 1970.
I predict that the Ratings Numbers for viewership of this year's Oscars will be the lowest ever recorded.
Jack.
My prediction is that I will be Freeping this event, thanking Hollywood for four more years. I'm creating an 8'x4' version of the "Thank you Hollywood" sign. Ron Dog has the troops ready to go.
Best Director: Karl Rove
Best Actor: John Kerry
Best Actress: Terayza Heinz Kerry
Best supporting actor: Edward Kennedy
Best supporting actress: Nancy Pelosi
Great thread.....all our genius FR posters are in top form denigrating Hollyweirdos. Nearly every single post is a gem, and just what they deserve. Those excuses for human beings out there in La La Land merit nothing less than our utter disgust.
Predictions? I'd say Aviator's Martin Scorcese and Leo DiCaprio will win. Hollyweird so enjoys doing the PC thing, and conferring an official benediction on the two would confirm Chris Rock's trusim about who actually watches the (gag) awards.....even though Rock's statement intended to stir up controversy to hype viewership.
I don't want to break my perfect Oscar viewer record, so I won't be watching again this year.
I predict that if they poll the Red Carpet segment of the show and then the actual awards portion, the viewership will by less by half.
Oscar de la Hoya?
I predict a widespread disinterest.
LOL! No i'm 31 but i still haven't heard of "the Duke". Are you pulling my leg? :)
There will be no wardrobe malfunctions............darn it ;-)
Oscar? Are we talking about sesame street?
Best Picture: Million Dollar Baby
Best Actor: Jamie Foxx
Best Actress: Hillary Swank
Best Director: Clint Eastwood
Supporting Actor: The guy from 'Wings' in Sideways
Supporting Actress: Laura Linney in Kinsey
Number of these films I have seen: Zero
Last movie I went to see in a theater was Return of the King. I am basing my choices on the buzz I hear on TV, from my wife, and from the office water cooler.
I will also predict that the winner of Best Documentary will have something to do with A. The Holocaust, B. Civil Rights/Racism, C. Homosexuality/AIDs. The track record is pretty consistent.
Sideways is the worst movie I've seen in some time.
I really don't understand why the critics love it so much, it is vile and banal
My sentiments, exactly.
ML/NJ
I predict that it will be a long boring show full of self-serving, greedy, leftist people.
I predicted long ago that nobody in Hollyweird would acknowldge the Passion fo the Christ, which is like the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time????
Also, does anybody remeber the movie Joni, about Joni Earickson, the artist who paints with her teeth, who broke her neck at age 17 and has been a paraplegie ever since? I saw it again recently and saw Joni on TV recently. The movie was made after she became a Christian. She plays herself. In the movie, she struggles deeply with depression and dispair about being unable to move again or use her hands.
Eventually Joni learns to paint holding pencils and brushes with her teeth. Her works is amazing, even if it were to come from hands and not a mouth. Her artwork gave her national acclaim and was the beginning of her lifelong ministry.
Over the years she founded Joni and Friends, her organization that gives wheelchairs and prosthetics to needy children (and adults I think) around the world. Joni has preached and spoken to crowds everywhere about disabilities and the abilty, through God's grace, to live full and productive lives in service to Him.
Everytime I feel sorry for myself, I think of Joni's pure joy in living for Jesus and I am really ashamed of myself!
MY POINT IS: the pathetic messgage of the Swank movie is that death is preferable to paralysis. Joni was there, too. But when she turned her life over to the Lord, he was able to work in her and use her in that dark place. Look where she she has been and where she is now.
Hollywood lauds wht God hates. Yet another reason I won't be watching the national circle jerk Sunday night.
I predict that because I haven't seen any of the nominated films I probably won't watch the Oscar telecast.
The LazamaPrediction:
1) I won't watch it.
