This morning President Bush participated in a discussion about Social Security reform at the Qwest Center Omaha Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. This afternoon he held another discussion about Social Security in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Robinson Center Auditorium. Finally late this afternoon the President attended a third town hall style meeting at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa Florida. At all three events President Bush was greeted by 10's of thousands of supporters, yet the mainstream media spends more time reporting about less than 2 dozen angry Democrats infected with the desease Liberalsim, than they spend on the Presidents message. We wont make that mistake here :-)
Thanks so much for the fantastic pictures--love to see W having a good time with "we the people"!
He has six years to brush it under the rug and GWB will no longer be President when he runs again. What he did was shpow the country the side of himself he's been hiding
I don't know how to copy pix, but the woman in the 9th pic in post 7 reminds me of the famous scene in When Harry met Sally. :-)
Your Welcome!
AND...and....Washington Dems STRUCK down.....DINO ROSSI will be OUR Governor, eventually (my little ole' prediction).
Hi, All.....yes, it's a GREAT DAY!
Thanks, MJ for the pics!
Where is the poem posted? Or better yet, can you provide a link to it? I would love to read (and maybe save) it.
I'll post it here
You're kidding! I just woke up.
All that happened? wow.
It's a keeper. You can reread it anytime you want to sob on your keyboard. Mike is going to post a link.
I guarantee you he had them in the palm of his hand at all five stops. The man is a wonder. He may not be a champion Yale debater, but he's got unbelievable charm, charisma and humility to go with an amazing depth of character that is revealed more every day.
Thank You!
I've heard the words oft times before -
that "Freedom isn't Free".
But that was long before I knew
how they would impact me.
A baby boy I loved so much -
I watched him learn and grow.
He grew into a strong young man,
how brave - I did not know.
Little League and high school band,
the trumpet, movies, friends -
things he enjoyed as years went by -
I hoped it would not end.
But graduation time came near,
now he was nineteen.
"I'm old enough. I'm ready, Mom,
to become the best Marine!"
Then off to Boot Camp far away,
and with the Crucible done -
His Eagle, Globe and Anchor,
he had finally, proudly won.
Standing tall, his face a beam -
a new United States Marine!
I knew that there were dangers.
My fear I tried to hide,
but the sight of him in uniform
filled my heart with pride.
A clear September morning as I saw the buildings fall,
my brave son was list'ning for his Nation's urgent call.
The world had changed in minutes,
for now we were at war.
"Don't worry, Mom. I'm trained for this.
It's what Marines are for."
He left his home and traveled to a desert far away.
On quiet nights, I'd close my eyes
and I could almost hear him say -
"I love you, Mom, and miss you,
but there's a job I have to do.
As a Marine, now it's my turn
to be protecting you."
Sleepless nights of worry, anxiety and fears;
Praying for his safety and crying countless tears.
Afraid to even think the worst -
the knock upon the door -
Knowing that had happened to other Moms before.
Oh, God, then it happened - the worst did come to pass -
In dark of night, the knock did come
and through the front door's glass -
I see them there in coats of blue with
buttons of bright brass.
I could not hear the words they spoke,
I could only cry and scream -
"This can't be true, this isn't real.
Please tell me it's a dream!"
As minutes turned to hours
and the hours into days,
pain and sadness stretched ahead
in such a foggy haze.
I close my eyes and, once again,
I hear his gentle voice.
"I'm alright, Mom, and I'm still here.
You know it was my choice.
My friends were hurt, I had to try
to get them out of there.
It is the code of honor
that we Marines all share."
I know he had to do it -
He could not walk away.
I'm grateful for the courage
that he displayed that day.
The sorrow's deep inside me -
So much, it seems I've lost.
But he wants me to remember
that Freedom has a cost.
There is no greater gift, they say,
than to lay down one's life for friends.
I will keep his gift in memory
until my life here ends.
I love you, Son, and thank you,
for your special gift to me -
I will always know
That Freedom isn't Free!

He gave his life to defend Liberty at home and to give the gift of Liberty to the good people of Iraq. Byron, I love you and I will be forever proud and grateful for your sacrifice.
Always,
Uuuuhhh! You don't LIKE this guy or anything, do ya? hee-hee!
Good evening
He's been hiding by getting on talk shows and saying the right things.
He's not been hidiing his votes. His voting record is out there, but because he gets on TV and says nice things, people don't pay attention to his voting record.
I've written him about stuff and his answers are always the same. When people call his office and try to talk to him or his staff, they get the same answers. He just does not care what his constituents think about anything.
I say all that to say this, I love Indiana and most of its citizens, but the ones who voted for Bayh really are stupid and won't listen.
Good evening
Great to see Condi on British TV today
Just a little side-note! I heard Sen. *hic* Kennedy quote your "good buddy" Joe Hadenuf yesterday, when he was railing about "when are the Iraqis going to start doing their own fighting" etc. Sounded like it came straight from the Live Thread for the SOTU speech! Do you suppose he reads FR?!! Maybe he *hic* IS Joe Hadenuf! Hmmmmm.
To add to your list:
Iraqi villagers kill five insurgents who had bullied them, THEN TRASH THEIR VEHICLES!
A demonstration demanding true elections breaks out in Egypt.
Condi Rice goes to Europe, tells it like it is and makes them like it. Gerhart Shroeder backs her up.
Alberto Gonzales gets a huge standing O at the Justice Dept.
A leading West Virginia newspaper trashes Sheets Byrd in the worst way.
Isn't it amazing how the the whole world is starting to get mouthy to tyrants and bullies?
