To be honest, I'm not to fond of Gonzales, I think he is a little timid. Ashcroft was a fighter, and we need a fighter when the AG is called to testify in front of those useless RATS on the congressional committees

You may be right, but the sense I got in the hearings was that this guy is the Artful Dodger personified. They were trying to tie him down, he was having none of it, and it drove them crazy. I am hopeful.

Maybe it is his soft-spoken voice. That is what they thought of the President, too, because he is for the most part soft-spoken--but has a spine of steel! I think Gonzales will prove to be that way, too.

I watched the video of Gonzales arriving for his first day as AG and he did NOT fill up the space made for him. He looked like a fish out of water. Hopefully he'll get his bearings and take up the mantle of a leader quickly, but I am not convinced it's in his nature. He could surprise me. I get the feeling he's far more comfortable being in the background. Don't know if he has any leadership experience.
