My Account of the Parade and the Inaugural Ball
Self | Me

Posted on 01/21/2005 9:13:23 PM PST by RepubMommy

Where the heck is everyone that went to the Ball? Anyway, let me give me account, and I am truly sorry that I don't have webspace to upload photos into, I will send mine to Bob Wood and he can do them soon hopefully. Anyway,my friend Fran and I arrived at about 12 noon. We were with a couple that I know from Il but they had bleacher seats, so we seperated getting off at different stops on the Metro.

We arrived at the Penn 7th and were all fine and dandy, some silly banter going back and forth between the hippy looking protesters (who seriously needed to bathe, anyone at the same site remember the dredlocks guy? He supplied us with a few laughs) and the Bush supporters then all of a sudden these Anarchists came out of nowhere and started throwing iceballs at us and were swinging clubs. Somebody in the crowd yelled that they had tear gas. They attacked a Protest Warrior and my friend that was with me heard they attacked a female officer as well. The crowd was getting nervous and started pushing away from them. Some poor lady had two small kids next to me and she was so scared she just kept saying, "Please God make this be over." I thought, "Great, I was going to die right there, not by the hands of extremist terrorists, but by my own fellow Americans". Anyway, cops in full riot gear showed up and seperated the crowd and we just so happened to be on the right side of the street, or else we were not going through the checkpoint anymore. I think the police just got fed up with those idiots. Some of the signs said some really intellectual statements such as "Buck Fush" since no profanity was going to be allowed in@@ Geez, must have took them all night to figure that one out. I also saw a little 20 something with a bunch of buttons on her saying, " I Love Pro Choice Boys". They were standing on this concert barriers when some Babs look alike joined her and started yelling, "Stay Outta My Womb." I didn't really recall seeing any men jumping at the chance anyway.

Once we finally finally made it through the gates, we come to find that there is only one female officer available to to pat downs on the women, while there were plenty of male officers to check the men. Brilliant. I was ever so thankful that Kristinn had that sectioned cordoned off to be rat free because by the time I actualy got in, I just about had it. Race, had to instruct some dirtball in orange with orange signs around his neck to leave the premises (why do they always identify themselves with the most obnoxious colros?) I had a verbal argument outside the gate with some little 12 year old with bright pink hair and black make up on, by the way outside the checkpoint area. so anyway, our section was free of any crowd, so I was basically leaning right on the metal railing, there was military guys right in front of us, then another row of metal railing and the policemen lined side by side in front of them. We knew the motorcade was coming because some time into the parade out of nowhere, the single line of cops was then joined by two more rows of cops in front of them. The military men were uniformly saluting as the car went by. I also saw Cheney's grandchildren jumping around in their limo, lol and Bush Sr actually rolled down his window and waved when he saw the Free Republic signs. Saw Trent Lott and Bill Frist also, they were in separate cars. Then the press was preceded the President on these big trailers thing and a few of us started chanting "Tell The Truth"! LOL! Anyway, it was just too cold so we only stayed for shortly after he past us, didn't see all of the bands and we had to leave to hop back on the train back to MD to get ready for the evening. We had a great time and I would definitely do it again in four years. Thanks to Kristinn, JimRob, JustAmy and everyone else that helped orgainze the day. It was great!

You musta been standing right next to me ... just because the president passes by you can't put down your camera and say "hi"?

Pfft, Oh Lord, please and what was YOUR excuse for not saying hi? I had on a pink coat and white hat, I looked very different from the dirty protesters and thank goodness. Sorry you didn't see me either, I was handing out free espresso and cannolis.

After the Ball was over I went into the bar and had a Cohiba Esplendidos while talking to Reanna, Buckhead and Congressman Billy Bob. Good Cigar, good people, and a great party. It was over to quick. Gov. Huckabee and his band were magnificent. The respect the Ball showed to our military made me very proud of the Freepers. We are the good guys!

I got some pictures of some protest signs, but I can't get them onto my laptop to post them for some reason.

Anyway, some of the weirdest ones were "Thank God for Tsunami", "Thank God for Sept. 11", and then "God Hates America." I'm sure other FReepers saw these freaks too, and maybe pics are already posted. These losers were right at that point where you entered the parade route if you walked straight from the swearing-in ceremony.

These losers tried to block every security entrance to the celebration of an Inauguration. After failing to get through the 7th street entrance my sister and I eventually went though the 3rd street checkpoint tent and worked our way back west on Pennsylvania trying valiantly to reach our Freeper friends.

We saw the pathetic protestors who had A WHOLE SECTION OF PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE WITH BLEACHERS AND MEDIA SCAFFOLDS AND PROFESSIONAL SOUND SYSTEMS between 3rd and 4th.

We managed to inch our way to the middle of the block between 6th and 7th where we were stopped by a security barrier, and SS men whose task was to allow people to EXIT from the 7th street side of the fence, but not enter from the 6th street side.

That is where we stayed for the parade, in solidarity with FR, but on the other side of a 'wall.'

I am convinced that these nasty nihilists attacked the crowds at the 7th st area purely because it was the entrance to the Park Service designated area for Free Republic.

They severely disrupted the plans of thousands of ordinary Americans who had come to DC and wanted to see the Inaugural Parade, not just Freepers.

They are destroyers, not protestors. They have no intention of EVER playing by "rules." They are such miserable people that the only enjoyment they get from life is by ruining situations for others.

Kristinn, I hope you will follow up with your contacts when the city gets back to relative normal, regarding the disparity in treatment of your permit and the ANSWER crowd's permits.

My "fave" was:

"I support the insurgents in Iraq and Palestine". That goes beyond free speech to sedition. Meanwhile, the only thing standing between these fairies and a good ass-kicking were National Guard troops -- the same ones the Moonbats hope the "insurgents" will kill ... despicable.

The Dems need to reign these kooks in, at least disavow and condemn their actions and messages ... not that I want to help the Dems, but ...

I have to agree. This truly left a foul taste in my mouth. People were there for enjoyment and brought small kids, they had no idea. The women next to me truly thought her kids were going to be trmapled.

My wife and I had such a wonderful time all day with mostly people of like minds. For this day of celebration, the press surly played to the "HATE AMERICA CROWD" and allowed them way too much coverage. When will the left and media understand if you just IGNORE the malcontents, they will dry-up and blow-away. Why don't they go and live in Cuba or North Korea for a year or so and see what the form of government they want is really like.

I met more RED people from BLUE states over the three days we were there and it still gives me hope that there is hope, considering I also am a RED person in a BLUE state.

The Ball was wonderful. Pat thanks for the upgrade to yellow section on the Metro on the way in, and we enjoyed talking with you and Charley on the train and the Ball. GO GEORGIA, and ZELL, the only Democrat worth voting for. He needs to become a Republican.

Gov. Mike, the band was awesome. My wife and I loved the evening, and we'll be back.

I'm not sure if I met you or not (there are no strangers among FReepers, that's for sure!) but I can't begin to express how great it felt to see the American Sector sign after emerging from hell on 7th and D.

I almost broke into tears.

God bless the DC FReepers.

I am disappointed that the police didn't crack their f'ing skulls open. I was so pissed, I wanted to see blood...

Just as well they didn't. Remember how those same kind of *individuals* operated in the 60's with their cunningly hidden razorblades to make sure there was plenty of blood in a confrontation for the presstitutes to see?

Such an action would be playing into their hands again, to our detriment...

I guess we came thru the security checkpoint at about the same time. I'm sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet. Well I'll see you in 09.

This was the crowd BEHIND me standing in line where the crap happened with the Anarchists prior to the incident at Penn and 7th.

My nephew was marching at the parade. He is a sophmore at Lincolnway HS (Frankfort, Illinois) and plays saxaphone with the Marching Knights. The guys in the picture are wearing Lincolnway hats.

Hopefully, he will see things as they really are and understands how important it is to be on the right side of things. He hates hippies anyway, that's a start. He's a very good clean cut guy and I'm very proud of him.
