Richard Hatch, the first winner of CBS's "Survivor," was charged today with failing to report his $1 million reality TV windfall to the Internal Revenue Service. The below two-count criminal information, unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island, charges Hatch with filing a false 2000 tax return that omitted his seven-figure "Survivor" winnings. The nudity enthusiast, 43, is also charged with filing a false return for 2001 (he allegedly did not report $321,000 paid to him by a Boston radio station). If convicted of the felony charges, Hatch could face a maximum of five years in prison for each count and could be hit with a $250,000 fine. Hatch is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Providence federal court January 24. (6 pages)

I have to admit the new BSG is good.. Not as good as the orginal, but more realistic. I thought 33 was a good episode.

BSG=BattleStar Galactica.. A 1979 TV series, and a brand new one on Sci-fi channel.

Acutaully this is the third incarnation.. There is the orginal BSG which ran from 1978-1979. Then there was Galactica 1980 (worst show ever). I think Galatica:1980 only lasted 6 shows. Don't remember and I really don't care. Then there is the remake of BSG on SciFi..

I'm very surprised the payer did not withhold a bunch 'o bucks for the IRS. This is common when one receives a lump sum payment such as cashing a life insurance policy, etc.

Won't happen. The IRS is decidely un PC when it comes to getting the money.
Funny, they don't mess with Jessuh Jackson or Reverend Al. Does anyone really believe that these fellows don't owe back taxes too?

I remeber him trying to bring back BSG. Bascially the premise was that it was going to take place 20 years after the last orginal BSG episode (ignoring Galactica 1980). However I can't seem him as face on the A-Team..

BSG and the A-Team had, in my opinion, the two best theme songs ever for TV shows.

Maybe CBS can do a Survivor Alcatraz with Hatch as the first castaway. It would probably do better than "Wife Swap."

This was a CBS gig?
Well there yah go - he can replace Dan - it will be an improvement. Dan had no clothes either - and he scammed the American public.

He stepped over the line into sexual harassment with Sue Hawk in Survivor All-Stars (the only Survivor I've watched all the way through, by the way) by rubbing himself (while naked) against her. Showed what a slime he was and he didn't last long after that.

Yeah, I try to erase Galactica 1980 from my mind. Well, the Starbuck episode was decent and there was the one with Wolfman Jack...

Does anyone really believe that these fellows don't owe back taxes too?If you have any proof of this, maybe you should report them. The government loves that.
