The vets couldn't save their fellow man in VN, Cambodia, and adjoining countries, but this time they saved the world.

I believe that Lockhart's involvement was the JFKerry's campaign attempt to use the fake President Bush story as a method of responding to SwiftBoatVets.
The liberal way is always change the subject.
NOT one negative word from the speech god himself, McCain, about trashing President Bush. So much for some war heroes.

God bless the Swifties and all the other Vietnam veterans groups that, in their own way, got out the truth about Hanoi Johnny boy.
They saved our country from a traitor who hates it and took a giant leap toward correcting the twisted version of the Vietnam war being spoon fed to our youth by a public school system run by his cohorts.
After the first ad ran, I began having 17-24 year-olds asking for information about what really happened in Vietnam and at home. I'm sure others had similar experiences.

I think the Swifties' saga is the most compelling and interesting single story of this or any other campaign I've ever been involved in.
I hope someone writes a book about this effort with all the details. I'm still fascinated by the skillful power put forth by the veterans and all helping hands across the nation, such as your work, Interesting Times.
Do you think such a book would earn a review by the pecksniffs at the New York Slimes?
Heheh.

As the special report on the scandal at CBS and "60 Minutes" was circulating around town, I was at a long-scheduled editorial dinner with the leader of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, John O'Neill. Among the guests at the table was Jerry Corsi, co-author, with Mr. O'Neill, of the book that halted Senator Kerry's surge in the polls, "Unfit for Command." For your files.

Toward the end of the dinner, we asked Mr. O'Neill whether he has thought of converting his fame from the Swiftboats into a career in politics, perhaps running for the Senate from Texas. It turns out he has been all his life a champion debater. But he made it clear, as he had done earlier during the dinner, that he and his comrades in the Swiftboat Veterans were in it not for the politics but for the honor of their fellow veterans of Vietnam and that what they were going to do now was what they had been doing before they were interrupted - to go home, back to the families and jobs to which they'd been devoting themselves since the war.Thank you Swifties.
