As the special report on the scandal at CBS and "60 Minutes" was circulating around town, I was at a long-scheduled editorial dinner with the leader of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, John O'Neill. Among the guests at the table was Jerry Corsi, co-author, with Mr. O'Neill, of the book that halted Senator Kerry's surge in the polls, "Unfit for Command." The Swiftboat Veterans for Truth is the 527 group that ran the advertisements on television and the Internet that so startled the American people and, many believe, did as much as any other single factor in delivering a second term to the president.
I've attended at a lot of editorial dinners over the years, but it is hard to recall one as enjoyable - or illuminating - as the sitting with Mr. O'Neill. One can call the story of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth the flip side of the tarnished coin of CBS. One was the vaunted network that flubbed the story of a generation. The other was a true band of brothers, professional newsmen not, who had a story that none of the big institutions wanted. They put it on the air themselves with the contributions of more than 150,000 ordinary Americans and discovered that it resonated powerfully with an electorate that had grown tired of being treated with cynicism.

No need to wait for re-election!
Hanoi Kerry is NOT a legitimate US Senator.
Never has been!
The traitor is doing the same thing he has always done.

I hope someone writes a book about this effort with all the details. I'm still fascinated by the skillful power put forth by the veterans and all helping hands across the nation, such as your work, Interesting Times.
Do you think such a book would earn a review by the pecksniffs at the New York Slimes?
Heheh.

Bump!
Haing Ngor, the man who portrayed Pran in The Killing Fields, was murdered in L.A. a few years ago.
"Glad to see you continue to keep the pressure on!"
Too bad the Main Stream Right Wing media give Hanoi Kerry a free pass.
I guess they think they can ignore the US Constitution like the Left Wing Media do.
So how come there is a book on Amazon called....The Death and Life of Dith Pran?
I am confused about this and have not read the book.
ALL of the mass media gave Kerry a pass, with the exception of Shawn Hannity.
>>Nice graphic! (The 2nd one didn't load)
Aarg! Oh well, I guess my bandwidth is catching up on me at ImageShack. It was Kerry playing his guitar on the plane, where I had added signs above the windows saying "No Stairway to Heaven playing allowed".
For your files.

"ALL of the mass media gave Kerry a pass, with the exception of Shawn Hannity."
Hannity is calling for Hanoi Kerry to removed from the
US Senate per US Constitution 14th Amendment Section 3?
Is there a link for this on FOX?
I don't even waste time with FOX anymore.
I hope you are right.
Neat-o!
Thanks for the ping. Good to see this in print.
I agree. Now, we're going to need a comparable effort in '08 from a group that has the courage to expose the corruption and depravity of Her Royal Highness, HRC, to again save the USA. This will perhaps be a more dangerous undertaking (pardon the pun...) that will be fought vigorously by what remains of the MSM whores and shills. FreeRepublic will be tasked to a key role in this campaign. We need to drive a stake through Dracula's heart.
Yes all to sad this man who survived Pol Pot & Co. fell victim to LA gangbangers:
Actor Haing Ngor found gunned down outside L.A. home

From Correspondent Jim Hill
LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Dr. Haing S. Ngor, the actor best known for his Oscar-winning performance in "The Killing Fields," has been killed.
Los Angeles police say Ngor's body was found next to his car -- in the open parking garage of his house. They say he apparently was shot as he arrived home in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles Sunday evening.
There are conflicting reports about Ngor's age. The Los Angeles Coroner reports he was 55. However, Ngor's longtime publicist, Marion Rosenberg, said he was 45.
Ngor won an Academy Award in 1984 for his portrayal of Cambodian journalist Dith Pran, who barely survived the mass killing of the Pol Pot regime. Ngor himself was tortured by Pol Pot forces -- and dedicated his Oscar to the family he lost.
Pran now works as a news photographer for The New York Times, where he learned of Ngor's killing.
"He is like a twin with me," Pran said. "He is like a co- messenger and right now I am alone." (128K AIFF sound or 128K WAV sound)
In a 1993 interview with CNN, Ngor gave his perspective on the success he achieved.
"I have a house, I have everything, but I have no family," he said. "How rich you are, but you can't buy a happy family." (136K AIFF sound or 136K WAV sound)
But Ngor's money did buy help for the people of Cambodia. Actor-producer Matt Salinger says that Ngor -- a doctor by training -- supported two clinics and a school in his Southeast Asian home country.
"He had a largeness of heart that was all encompassing," Salinger said.
Ngor was never trained in acting, but he won roles in a number of films and television series, including Oliver Stone's "Between Heaven and Earth." (128K AIFF sound or 128K WAV sound)
Investigators say they have no suspects or motive in Ngor's killing. They say he carried a wallet and money, but neither was taken. Ngor clearly had political enemies from his activities in Cambodia, something police were said to be checking.
Those who knew Ngor see a sad irony in his death -- that a man who had survived so much in his native Cambodia would be killed outside his home in the United States.
Gang members convicted in Haing Ngor murder

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Three gang members were found guilty Thursday of the 1996 robbery-murder of Haing Ngor, the Oscar- winning actor from Cambodia.
Three separate juries found Tak Sun Tan, 21, Jason Chan, 20, and Indra Lim, 20; guilty of first-degree murder and second- degree robbery.
The three gang members were charged with killing Ngor during a robbery in an alley behind his Chinatown area apartment in February 1996.
Ngor, who escaped from Cambodia in 1980, won an Academy Award for the 1984 film "The Killing Fields," in which he drew on his first-hand experience in Cambodia during the rule of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge
