International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), a front group for the communist Workers World Party, has released a video that agitates for 'civil war' at President Bush's inaugural parade on January 20 in Washington, D.C.
According to reports, the group has received demonstration permits from the U.S. Park Service for at least two positions along the parade route on Pennsylvania Avenue: the Navy Memorial and Freedom Plaza.
The release of the video follows on the announcement that Ramsey Clark, a founder of ANSWER and its parent group, the International Action Center (IAC), will be one of Saddam Hussein's defense lawyers in his trial for crimes against the Iraqi people.
In 2003, ANSWER released a statement giving "unconditional support" for the terrorists killing Americans and Iraqis in the aftermath of the American-led liberation of Iraq from Hussein's tyrannical terrorist government.
In 2002, ANSWER spokesman Tony Murphy endorsed the homicide bombings of Israeli civilians by Palestinian terrorists.
Since it's founding on Sept. 14, 2001, while smoke was still pouring from the World Trade Center site in New York City where three days earlier terrorists had slaughtered almost 3,000 Americans and people from around the world in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, ANSWER has worked to undermine America's efforts to defend itself from further terror attacks by allying itself with Saddam Hussein's government and Palestinian extremists.
For the most part, their protests have been peaceful, but the air of violence always hangs in the background--a legacy of the 1999 Seattle riots that gave a rebirth to the anti-American left.
Indeed, IAC leader Brian Becker acknowledged in a January 14, 2001 Washington Post interview that he had realized his movement could attract more people if they thought they would not get tear-gassed like they did in Seattle.
That interview was done in anticipation of the IAC's protest of Bush's first inauguration. Despite promises that the protests would be peaceful, the Navy Memorial, where the IAC had a demonstration permit, was desecrated by protesters who took down flags from the masts there and assaulted people who tried to intervene.
Despite that lack of care to maintain public property used under their permit, the same group (under a different name)has been given a permit to protest again at the Navy Memorial on Inauguration Day.
This time, however, their mask of peace and anti-racism has been removed by ANSWER's leader, Brian Becker, in the almost five minute long video promoting ANSWER's Inaugural Parade protests.
The video uses a somnambulant song over video clips of protesters and police actions at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. Protesters are seen carrying flag draped coffins, participating in illegal 'critical mass' bike riding and skateboarding on city streets. A plethora of images are shown of protesters being arrested by the police in an effort to demonize the police in the eyes of ANSWER's target audience for the Inaugural Parade.
Brian Becker, through carefully chosen speeches disguised as interviews, exhorts people to rise up against the Bush administration and their supporters.
In the first segment, Becker uses anti-Semitic codes words "neoconservatives" and "banking elites" while a sign that says "RNC Go Home" b/w "AIPAC Puppets" is shown on the screen. AIPAC stands for American Israel Public Affairs Committee: "The neoconservative agenda, which is really not just an ideological grouping inside the political establishment, speaks for a larger section: The corporate and banking elites in America who believe in the absence of the Soviet camp and the absence of the Soviet Union and the fall of the socialist bloc governments in the early 1990s, that a new empire, a new global empire can be established."
The next segment featuring Becker has him calling for a repeat of the violent upheavals of the late 1960s when assassinations, riots and violent protests nearly tore the country apart: "1968 and 1969 and 1970 where the United States was convulsed with such street protests of such magnitude that it seemed that the society was evolving, or devolving, toward civil war or great social strife, that will come again. And that will come again because resistance to this oppressive, illegal war of aggression is inevitable."
At the end of the video, Becker closes his call for revolution against the governmentat the Bush Inaugural (his statement is followed by a graphic promoting the Inaugural protest in Washington): "Most importantly, the most important ingredient in the coming epic battle for the defense of civil rights and civil liberties is not what the Bush administration does. We know what they will do. The question is what will we do? What will the people do? Will the people run, or will they stand and fight? And if they stand and fight, we believe the Bush administration and those who want to negate any semblance of democracy in this country will be defeated."
Pretty rich from a man who supports some of the worst violators of civil rights and civil liberties in our times: Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-Il.
One wonders why, in a time of war, the U.S. government is permitting a viper to nestle next to its breast.

It's about time our country started treating ANSWER like the national security threat that it is.
I'm thinking water cannons and tear gas.
Not to mention YAP someone to distraction!
What are they gonna use, spitballs?
"it's what I visualize when I hear your freeper handle."
Then the handle worked!
Doesn't this constitute incitement to riot? Shouldn't the FBI and Secret Service be promptly notified?

You know, since this inauguration is going to have a military theme in particular; it might even be safer than we think! I would imagine that there will be a lot of servicepeople there; and they are trained to deal with some of the worse terrorists!
I hope that someone doesn't start something, and ruin the inauguration for everyone. However, with all those people, a lot of them being military people; I can't imagine these nutty people would dare to try it! This is after 9-11 after all! There is going to be much tighter security than that was present at GWB's last swearing in. These people would have to be very foolish to even think of it!
Our President is not a fool, and doesn't suffer fools gladly! We saw that when he was in that South American nation a few months ago. In fact, we've seen him demonstrate this many times! He went through 9-11 for heaven's sake! If they try to pull this, I think they'll find they picked the wrong people to mess with! They'd have to get rid of a long line of successors, too!
In order to try something like an overthrow; they would have to have active cooperation from a lot of the military and police, wouldn't they? And GWB and his administration have the devout loyalty of most the military, and most veterans, as well as police! They would tear these people up if they dare touch him, or Mr. Cheney, or others!
And although the Dem. party itself, is not what it used to be idealogically, there are still many sane, loyal Americans in it's poisonous embrace. And a lot of these voted for GWB. Even if they didn't, they still don't hate him so much that they would allow this to happen!
After all, there will be a lot of Dem. party people there too; they would be in danger also! I'd like to see this group of domestic terrorists just try it!
Exactly! Please see my post down the line, probably toward the end! I expect that with a strong military theme; there will be quite a lot of military there, past and present, who have dealt with these sort of people! And I think they're really sick of this stuff! I really think they've picked on the wrong people, especially after 9-11!
Just ignore these liberal loony tunes, they like to pretend they are so important. If you want a good laugh then check out www.indymedia.org and look at these lefties try to organize "Counter-Inaugural 2005". It'll be a complete failure just like the RNC protests. Who even remembers those anymore??

The DemonRAT machine is going mad: "I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a...fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you."
Dave Bowman: "Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me."
HAL: "It's called "Daisy". Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two."
THIS MACHINE HAS GONE MAD AND WE'LL HAVE TO DISCONNECT IT!
Neither is their lefty rot. I hope they are spending every last dime they have and flushing it down the toilet with the sewage they spew.
Overthrow of the Government and civil war is a no-no. Or am I wrong?
