A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Good morning! This is a most beautiful post, Aqua, and I'm listening to each song, one right after the other. Thank you for your wonderful musical and artistic contributions to making the Christmas Season at the Finest the very finest each year we've been here. A link (and the introduction) to the very first one that you and daisyscarlett did set the standards way up there!
12-23-02
When we decided to do a special thread celebrating the Music of Christmas, Aquamarine immediately came to mind as guest hostess for this endeavor. Aquamarine has been posting beautiful art work and music links since the inception of the Finest thread six months ago.
We are pleased that she accepted our invitation to be the guest producer and hostess today and know that you will be too.
Thank you Aquamarine for what promises to be an enjoyable beginning of Christmas week on the Finest thread......daisyscarlett
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When daisyscarlett asked me to participate in the Holiday Special Threads by hostessing a Christmas Music Day, I was more than happy to accept her offer.
I love any type of music that's well made and believe that it can lift our spirits and lighten our burdens. Participating in The Finest's, and previously in the Canteen threads, has given me the chance to play many types of music. I am grateful for the opportunity and hope that you have enjoyed my efforts.
I would like to give credit to Billie and daisyscarlett for their assistance in the graphics and layout of this thread. I did help in that area with "suggestions" but the graphics with the music links were produced by me. Would also like to thank Spookbrat and Lodwick for their help in finding the best wav sites.
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with music of all types I hope that you will sit back, relax, grab a cup of coffee and some Christmas treats. And listen to some very beautiful music of the season. And by all means, post any music midis or wavs you would like to share.
Merry Christmas to all my Finest FRiends!...Aquamarine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We lovingly dedicate this Special Day of Christmas music to whoever, a dear FRiend to many of us.
Whoever, we hope you enjoy the music and art graphics today. We missed your help and input in producing this thread, but you were constantly on our mind and in our thoughts. We hope we have achieved our goal of rejoicing in and glorifying the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, through music, as we know you would have encouraged us to do.
Merry Christmas, whoever. We miss you..... Aquamarine and daisyscarlett

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Rus. What a terrible thing to happen - an accident that takes one of our friends or loved ones is made even sadder at this time of the year. Prayers for his family - Christmas will be extremely tough for them this year.

Oh Billie, thanks for bringing back this Oldie but Goody thread. That's where it all got started and there's no stopping me now! lol
BTW...when I was working on the header in Windows 98 the green background was much darker there, on Windows XP it's a medium green. Am worried that the Christmas tree line is getting lost on the green background for those who have Windows 98.

To: Proud AF Dad; All
We have a new addition to the Prayer List today, ProudAFDad's son is working overseas to preserve our freedom and and keep us safe. May God bless him along with all the others.
God Bless Our Military
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Below are names of some of our FReepers' loved ones who are serving our country. If you have someone you would like to add, please address a post to Billie; Mama_Bear; Dansangel; Dutchess; Aquamarine and we will add their name to this list. As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nation's leaders, and military personnel, and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.
Please give us the strength, Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

:) I have Windows 98 as you know, and the Christmas trees look beautiful on the background. They show up just right for me - they're in the same color family, and more than enough definition for my monitor! Here's a screen shot so you can "see what I see". :)

Have to check out for a little while - I'll be back off and one today!

Thanks for the nice words and the song Mama Bear. I'm listening to it now.
We're having Christmas early at our house this weekend and I'm also going to have to leave for a while and run some more errands (feeling overwhelmed).
Will be back shortly....
To: Billie
It looks about the same as it does on my monitor only a little fuzzy. It could be because I'm still on Windows XP, is this making sense? lol
We're all having to run today. lol
Maybe we'll catch up later.

Very nice, Aqua. Merry Christmas to you!

So very pretty, Aqua. I thought I could share a lesson with all of you regarding inner peace.I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we all could use more calm in our lives.
By following the simple advice I heard on a Dr. Phil show, I have finally found inner peace.
Dr. Phil proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I started and hadn't finished; and, before leaving the house this morning I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Baileys, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of both Prozac and Valium prescriptions, the rest of the Cheesecake, some Saltines and a box of Chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel.
Please pass this on to those you feel are in need of inner peace. (Spell check didn't know what Zinfandel and Merlot are. What kind of system is this?)

Did everyone see the new 2004 Barney cam at the White House website? It is entitled "Where in the White House is Miss Beasley?", the new Scottish terrier pup the President gave Mrs. Bush for her birthday. It was adorable, but Miss Beasley herself won't arrive until January.
Offering my thougths and prayers for our troops who are far from home this holiday season as they defend our way of life.

It's hard *not* to get into the spirit of Christmas with a thread like this.
You are definitely the *mistress* of music! :-)

Uh-oh, seems like somebody else I know has complained about the Windows 98 graphics looking fuzzy on Windows XP. Know anything about that, Louiewolf? :)
