Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 10:30 p.m. EST Bill 'Captain Queeg' Clinton Threatens Peter Jennings
A paranoid-sounding Bill Clinton threatened ABC News anchorman Peter Jennings in an interview broadcast Thursday night, in a bizarre rant about his impeachment that laid bare the ex-president's persecution complex.
"You don't want to go here, Peter," Clinton warned, after Jennings told him that historians ranked him second to last of all presidents in terms of moral authority.
Squinting his eyes, an angry Clinton seethed, "You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like." The amazing exchange came after Clinton at first claimed he didn't care about the verdict of historians.
"I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started," he claimed. "And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what [the historians] think."
Immediately, Jennings challenged Clinton, all but calling him a liar.
"Oh, yes you do . . . Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply."
Jennings' challenge sent Clinton into a thinly veiled rage, prompting him to threaten, "You don't want to go here, Peter."
The full exchange went like this:
JENNINGS (Discussing rankings by presidential historians]: They gave you a forty-first in terms of moral authority - after Nixon.
CLINTON: They're wrong about that. You know why they're wrong about it? They're wrong about it.
JENNINGS: Why, sir?
CLINTON: Because we had $100 million spent against us in all these inspections . . . In spite of it all, you don't have any example where I ever lied to the American people about my job, where I have let the American people down. And I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started. And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what they think.
JENNINGS: Oh, yes you do.
CLINTON: They have no idea . . .
JENNINGS: Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply.
CLINTON: No, no. I care. In care. You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what your people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like.
Don't forget, Clinton was DISBARRED, too.
Yes indeed, Captain Queeg. He figured it out mathematically.
You're right that the bent impeached one twists everything to put himself in the best light, or to put his opponent in the worst.
O'Reilly had the audio clip of Clinton and Jennings on the radio today. Neither reading OR hearing the comments gave me the same impression as seeing the frozen fury in his face. I hope Chris Wallace shows the clip on Sunday.
I saw that Chelsea handed the keys to the lie-brary over to the feds, who will now take it over. Does that mean we taxpayers can revise the exhibits so the truth is told?
For those who aren't in the habit of watching one hour Peter Jennings specials on Bill Clinton.
Jennings would not back off -
Slick Willie attacks his best defenders -
Some similiarities to Kerry here -
Is that a REAL picture of his LIEBRARY??? OMG it's ugly if that's a REAL pic....but something tells me that it's a FAKE pic og a trailer on stilts.
I heard on the radio today that they had tents up the day before the lie-brary dedication, but the imagemeisters thought they took away from the appearance of the building. So, knowing it would rain on dedication day, they took the tents down, for the sake of IMAGE.
The image I have of the event is a cadaverous, cranky drowned rat, two extremely generous former presidents, and an old fool. Oh yeah. And Hitlery having an umbrella dropped on her head by a soldier she loathes.
It's a bit late at night to go looking up verses in the Bible, but I politely disagree with you. Clinton wouldn't get 50% of the vote in the USA but he is loved elsewhere -- even real Africans consider him the first African-American President. They fawn over him in Europe and, with the exception of the Muslim world, like him in Asia too.
I always thought that an interesting twist is the likelihood that another nation, not the USA, would nominate him for UN Secretary General.
I thought there was one Antichrist (Satan) and a world leader, not called an Antichrist but clearly in close relationship with him. Oh well.
JENNINGS (Discussing rankings by presidential historians]: They gave you a forty-first in terms of moral authority - after Nixon.I have a HE** of a lot more respect for Nixon than I EVER had for clintoon. I can't express that strongly enough.
Clintoon can rot in he** as far as I'm concerned.
CLINTON: No, no. I care. In care. You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what your people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like.
Translation: How DARE you not show me in the BEST light regardless of what the facts may bear out!
Thursday was the Grand Opening of the clintoon library and massage parlor.

THE BLACK LANDMARK
THE CLINTON LIEBRARY RAZEDYou think Im kidding?
They really did tear that down.
Who is to blame when a historic landmark is lost? Part of the blame belongs to a throw-away society that places little premium on historical structures. Some of the blame must accrue to preservationists and historians who failed to recognize the significance of this structure hidden within May Supply Company. Most of the blame, however, must go to the Clinton Library Foundation and the City of Little Rock, neither of whom showed any evidence of a good faith effort to evaluate various options for keeping the station or moving a smaller representative section to a nearby site. One must also wonder why Clinton library site engineers failed to call attention to this historical building during the early stages of the library design. Site engineers had conducted exhaustive surveys of the area, surveys which had given them access to this building while it was cocooned within other structures and effectively hidden from the public. Were the survey engineers incapable of recognizing an unquestionably historic structure, or was their silence a deliberate calculated effort to conceal details of a landmark which they considered expendible?
The pot calling the kettle black. A Canadian weazel and an Arkansas weazel.
Thats pretty good by Jennings but my favorite is when Charles Manson told Geraldo he could have his head sent to him in a box. Needless to say Geraldo quieted his tone a bit.
Clinton: "You don't want to go there".
Jennings: " there is something warm in my trousers"
I have driven past his lie berry many times and it looks exactly like a double wide on stilts.
It's real. She linked the picture directly from the official website!!
That's the real deal.........quite apropos, don't you think? ;)
