Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 10:30 p.m. EST Bill 'Captain Queeg' Clinton Threatens Peter Jennings
A paranoid-sounding Bill Clinton threatened ABC News anchorman Peter Jennings in an interview broadcast Thursday night, in a bizarre rant about his impeachment that laid bare the ex-president's persecution complex.
"You don't want to go here, Peter," Clinton warned, after Jennings told him that historians ranked him second to last of all presidents in terms of moral authority.
Squinting his eyes, an angry Clinton seethed, "You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like." The amazing exchange came after Clinton at first claimed he didn't care about the verdict of historians.
"I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started," he claimed. "And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what [the historians] think."
Immediately, Jennings challenged Clinton, all but calling him a liar.
"Oh, yes you do . . . Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply."
Jennings' challenge sent Clinton into a thinly veiled rage, prompting him to threaten, "You don't want to go here, Peter."
The full exchange went like this:
JENNINGS (Discussing rankings by presidential historians]: They gave you a forty-first in terms of moral authority - after Nixon.
CLINTON: They're wrong about that. You know why they're wrong about it? They're wrong about it.
JENNINGS: Why, sir?
CLINTON: Because we had $100 million spent against us in all these inspections . . . In spite of it all, you don't have any example where I ever lied to the American people about my job, where I have let the American people down. And I had more support from the world when I quit than when I started. And I will go to my grave being at peace about it. And I don't really care about what they think.
JENNINGS: Oh, yes you do.
CLINTON: They have no idea . . .
JENNINGS: Excuse me, Mr. President. I can feel it across the room. You care very deeply.
CLINTON: No, no. I care. In care. You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what your people did. And the way you - your network - what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every little sleazy thing he did. No one has any idea of what that's like.
Saw this portion last night and I couldn't believe my eyes and ears!! It was quite a show. Clinton is losing his marbles.

Heh, you missed his parsing of the word "lie" - he said he never liked ABOUT HIS JOB to the American people. It wasn't his job to have sex with Monica. Also, I don't really believe the poll because clearly 49% of the American people would say he was the best president ever, and 51% would say the worst. So, he'd have to end up around the middle somewhere, on average. Totally ridiculous of Jennings and Clinton to have this conversation on TV. I'm not sure why Clinton doesn't retire from the spotlight like the other presidents. He's a glory hound.

LOL I was bleaching the kitchen floor and gasped so long that I inhaled too many fumes. Feel like crap today. All Clinton's fault! (it was worth it)

well the Dr's did say the memory is affected after heart surgery!!!!! With him and Kerry it's always someone else they blame-now Kerry blaming UBL tape and Clinton - well it was anyone but him!!!!!!!
His other qualification for the Biblical character is that the Book of Revelation says that a world leader will negotiate a peace treaty between Israel and its enemies. I guarantee you, Clinton's ego is such that, if UN Secretary General, he would try and remake his legacy by taking on the world's toughest problem.
The Bible story, of course, relates that the peace treaty is a sham and that the Israelis become embroiled in a war even greater than those in the past.

The MSM bent over backwards to try to destroy Ken Starr
and anyone else who said a word against Clinton. He owes
them big time, and now Petah and the rest shouldn't be
the least bit surprised to be rebuffed by Clinton when they
cross him with some hard question too little, too late.
I don't think Petah is familiar with the term "Arkancide"
and all the "strange coincidences" associated with that
term. I dunno. I'm not accusing anyone, but Petah may be
risking his neck too little, too late and for no good
reason now. What was the point trying to show his
"objectivity" at a time when it did no good or when it
could have rid us of this Clinton scourge once and for all.
Both of them.
As for Peter, Katie, Diane Sawyer, Dan, Tom, Lanie Davis, Terry Mc, Howard Ickles, George Soros, even Geraldo Rivera, a Clinton hugger, all are already cramming Ms. Clinton down our throats; they need to know right now – the Clintons will never retake the White House! Bill is a dirty old man and his wife, the strident, conniving, slicker than Willie enabler, has so many skeletons in her closet that people like the Swift Boats, will come out and nail her hide to the barn door once and for all.
The Democratic Party is in tatters because of the Clintons, Jackson, Rangel, Sharpton, McAwful, Gore, the Black Caucus and the Democratic Socialists of America along with half the democratic Senate. So if the dems want a crack at the White House, they are going to have to dump these people and go for some fresh new faces and blood.
