A legacy of disappointment and distrust will be housed forever in the Clinton Library.

Some peole still insist on decorum, it seems. Perhaps because the Left only shows the proper respect to those with whom they agree. If you don't want to refer to President George W. Bush as 'the president', then that is your choice. No one but you suffers as a result of your anger and bitterness.

I watched and listened to President Bush's remarks at the clinton portrait unveiling and it was NOT "for over an hour." Hyperbole doesn't work on that one.

For those that didn't enjoy it enough the first time, C-Span is showing it again. Jimmah Carter is now speaking.
I didn't get to hear Chelsea, so now I will get a chance.

What so many people fail to realize is that, unlike most nations, our chief executive and head of state roles are combined in one person, the President. In parliamentary systems, there is usually a ceremonial head of state (king, queen, elected or appointed president) and an elected prime minister. In most countries, the ceremonial head of state would attend a function like this and say the pretty, diplomatic words suitable for such an occasion.
When a president of the United States attends such a function, he does so in his role as ceremonial head of state, not chief executive, nor commander in chief, nor head of the Republican Party.

Please take a moment and consider the following brief scenario:
Two men have squared off to fight. One man calmly assesses his opponent while the other screams obscenities and waves his arms about wildly.
On which combatant would you place your wager?

"Clinton certainly does not deserve ONE WORD of praise..."Perhaps the world is bigger than just Clinton. Perhaps some events transcend mere individual lives. Millions of Americans voted for Clinton, for instance. Do they not deserve occassional praise?
Another point worth considering is that reconciliation benefits us all. We want to win lefties over to the Right. Are those victories best done by insulting and attacking the icons of the liberals, or by praising those areas in which we find common ground?

" And Clinton will be remembered for his lack of Class"
By whom? Us? We already knew that. The MSM will tell everyone how great Clinton is and will play Bush's words as proof thereof.
Republican class used against themselves, once again...
To: Southack
On the other hand, your implied threat above to not vote for President Bush would seem a bit late to the dance. I was referring to his legacy - which is currently one of impoverishing future generations in exchange for buying votes and playing political games with Ted Kennedy.
And I already didn't vote for him - twice. I prefer people who actually comprehend the Founders' concept and the Constitution. I'm still waiting for this veto-free President to start spending that "political capital" he's hoarding and bragging about to actually do something about the Big Stupid Government he's encouraged for four years.

Well, I said this earlier but it bears repeating. Let's wait a few days, get a copy of the transcript and see if any alternative meanings can be lifted from Bush 43's remarks.

Hey look at it this way---this is the ultimate slap in the faces of Gore, Kerry, Al Franken, Babs, and all of the other lefties that are there to see their Hero.
They have to sit in the rain and watch the ONE MAN THEY HATE MORE THAN ANYONE sitting up on stage, having just been re-elected --despite all that they tried to do.

Between lauding Clinton twice and Arafat, raising the debt limit, repealing the food labeling law, expanding medicare/public schools, encouraging the UN/NAFTA/FTAA and ignoring the illegal immigration mess, I'm not sure why I should be anything but pessimistic about the next 4 years.
