GRASSROOTSPA EXCLUSIVE: BOMBSHELL: SPECTER SLAMS CONSERVATIVES IN CAMPAIGN LETTER, ATTACKS PRO-LIFERS, CHRISTIANS
Some choice quotes:
-"I will not give up our Party to radical extremists without a fight."
-Calls Pat Robertson, Ralph Reed, and Pat Buchanan "extremists".
-"I resent people like Pat Robertson, Ralph Reed, and Pat Buchanan trying to give litmus tests to determine who can be a Republican candidate."
-"I want to strip the strident anti-choice language" from the GOP party plank.
-"Will you stand up to the far-right fringe that demands that legal abortion be banned?"
-"We must demonstrate that the Republican Party is made up of more that Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Buchanan, and Ralph Reed."
-Accuses the Christian Coalition of keeping people off the Republican ticket and blackmailing the Republican Party, slams Paul Weyrich of Free Congress Foundation
..."it may be a media job to get us wedged"
Conservatives were the ones who started this ouster of Arlen. The media is just picking up on it and reporting.
Specter would be worth losing just to free us from his vitriolic assinine jargon; he is a marxist stooge who needs to go away because he consoles the enemy and tarnishes the meaning of Free America. Until he is disposed of we are all in trouble for allowing this thing to steal his way into the Senate!
Specter's friends are unionists, Democrats, and anti Lifers.
Why is he a Republican anyway?
No... wedge does not mean marginal, it means divisive. Try a dictionary.
And I was refering to Specter as being a "wedge" Republican because he is moderate. He is pro-choice, but voted for the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and he voted for Laci and Connor's Law. He's not as conservative as I'd like personally, but he is not extreme left, either.
Now, how about the point I made that you completely ignored in replying to my post? Do you not see how the liberal media deliberately tries to turn Republicans against each other? Should we not be skeptical of an "article" that is an obvious attempt to do so?
Sometimes conservatives don't see eye to eye, and it doesn't take a liberal to make us argue.
LOL, I called and the mailbox is over full. Could not take my call. But I did try. I did sign the petition though.
Thank you for the voice of sanity :-)
Posting at 4:38 PM PST, and both Frist's and Santorum's mailboxes are full. Apparently Freepers are getting through, or else they're cutting off taking more calls on the subject. Will try again. We cannot let "Spectre" get away with this stuff! Talk about an operative!
Well, one little leftie journalist claiming that Specter "warned" Bush caused quite a flurry of threads, rage and phone bills among Freepers. I'm willing to be that leftie journalist is getting quite a chuckle over the whole "crisis".
I read what Specter said -- his own word. His own word are enough. No reporter required. The only leftie required is Arlen, in this case.
Yep... the liberal media loves pulling these ambush pieces on us and watching us eat our own :-(
It seems like only yesterday .... that the MSM had Pat Robertson claiming Bush as enemy #1.
Speaking of Robertson, didn't he predict a Kerry victory?
I hate it when the unwitting viewer just gobbles it up.
I read his words, too... he was saying that Bush would remember how the DEMOCRATS prevented his nominees, not saying that he himself would prevent them. It makes even less sense that it was a personal "warning" given that Specter has voted FOR all of Bush's previous pro-life nominees.
We're being played for fools and the journalist is probably indulging in peals of laughter at having caused this Republican uproar.
The language is pretty gratuitous for a person claiming to run for president. Why would you go out of your way to antagonize people who might vote for you? It smells, I'm sorry.
Thanks for trying.
Specter is no friend of conservative causes. I hear you on your "party unity" chorus. Count me out on this round. Go pump up somebody else.
It was slicker than most, I'll grant the journalist that much... too bad we can't learn that journalists are about as trustworthy as Muslims from Fallujah.
And the date on his warning to "W" was yesterday. So what? It's further proof that he's been a RINO for four decades...
