Not to mention, the ever class-less, Ter-rez-ha.
We would have her pulling the thumb out of the mouths, of the children, of visiting dignitaries.
Then when someone would ask her to explain what she meant, by some comment she had made, and she would tell them to "shove it!"
Then she would tell the normal working class women of this country, that they didn't have real jobs, like she did, as a philanthropist.
And of course, eventually, the world would start to mock a women who chose to go to school in South Africa, under apartheid. And lived an elite life, in colonial Africa, with lots of poor black servants. Then married money.

Great essay. I do believe we dodged a bullet. The stakes are much, much higher than when Carter took office.
I am immensely relieved.
(I did take a moment away from Hugh Hewitt's show to listen to - ACK! - Randi Rhodes interview Greg "Reynolds Wrap" Palast on Err America this afternoon. I felt icky afterwards.)

Hyperbole much?
I mean, I am really glad that Bush won, but if we held the congress, Kerry would have been ineffectual in pushing the liberal agenda. Imagine the country pretty much as it was under Clinton. Not good, but we survived.
