As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads.  I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .

The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion.  Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

Just voted in a GOP strong hold in SW missouri. Normally I can just walk right in and vote (or wait maybe 5 min).

Poll was packed! Long line too! Had about 5 people there, though, who had just moved a couple of days ago to the district who were waiting for some sort of approval er somthing.

The refused to take anyone without a drivers license and were watching how people signed their signatures compared to their drivers license.


Felt good to strike a blow for freedom by voting for W.

Just voted in Texas. Heavy Bush state. Got in line 10 minutes before the poll opened. Took about 45 minutes. Long time for my local poll. Everything looks good, people happy, laughing talking back and forth. GO BUSH!

2. I DIDN'T HAVE TO SHOW AN ID OR SIGN IN!!!!!! Even in Afghanistan they mark you in some way. Nope, just walk up, give your name and address and they hand you a voter card. I cannot believe it and I am going to be writing the entire legislature (maybe this should become an action item for us Freepers in WI.) Completely ridiculous. If I have a friend that I know isnt' going to vote, I could just give her name and address and go vote for her!! UNreal.

Go get 'em! Wisconsin election regulations are a travesty. Quite possible that fraud cost Bush Wisconsin, four years ago.

Checking in from Bush-Cheney HQ in Franklin County. Came home to do somthing with my hair before flushing the polls at 11 in Westerville and then back to (hopefully) meet Dubya when he arrives at 11:30. Spirits are soaring here!

Perhaps in the illiterate sections of Atlanta they do....;-) Just the names and party affiliation. Very easy to use though.

My wife and I are what you would call "young voters" 28 and 26. We voted for the first time this year, both for Bush. Heavy turnout in HEAVY republican Madison County Va. at 6:40 a.m.

You NoVa's should drive south about 50 miles, quite different, very much Bush Country.

Curious as to where you voted. I'm also in the "north Atlanta suburbs" (voted at John's Creek Baptist on McGinnis Ferry Rd.) Long lines but I have no perspetive since I moved to that area 1 year ago.

I came back from the polls here in the People's Republic of Manhattan an hour ago. The line was fairly long, and it took a little under an hour before I could cast my vote for President Bush. I think that the line was about as long as four years ago.

THERE WERE UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICERS INSIDE MY POLLING PLACE AT A PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!! AND THEY HAD GUNS!!!! And they were *gasp* being helpful and telling voters which line they should be on! The horror!

If a police officer ends up within 100 feet of a polling place in Florida, the Democrats scream "INTIMIDATION!!!!" and "DISENFRANCHISEMENT!" By liberal logic, why am I not being intimidated, too?

And the 40-year old lever-pull voting machine DIDN'T GIVE ME A PIECE OF PAPER RECORDING MY VOTE! How do I know my vote will be counted? The New York Times will be up in arms tomorrow! (NOT!)

Speaking of liberal logic, my idiot liberal neighbors were voting too. One had on that stupid T-shirt with a red zot through the President's face. Another had on the same pin. Yet another moron was wearing a "Vote Democratic. No Sh@t!" pin. Only one brave soul was wearing a Bush/Cheney pin. Most people were in business attire, getting ready to go to work.

As for no ID, you can blame Gov. Jim (Diamond Craps) Doyle (D-Madistan) for that. The last legislative session (the first in a long time where Pubbies were fully in charge), the Pubbies pushed through a voter ID requirement, which Craps vetoed. The Pubbies didn't have enough numbers to override.

The poll workers need to educate that the ballot may be inserted into the machine in any direction, including face-down (which is how I stick my ballot in).
