Romans 5: 1-2

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

GOD'S GRACE TO ALL!
EYES BLOODSHOT AND TIRED LORD,WE YOUR ADOPTED ARE HERE TO PRAISE YOU!

"Behold, he prayeth."
- Acts 9:11

Prayers are instantly noticed in heaven. The moment Saul began to pray the
Lord heard him. Here is comfort for the distressed but praying soul.
Oftentimes a poor broken-hearted one bends his knee, but can only utter
his wailing in the language of sighs and tears; yet that groan has made
all the harps of heaven thrill with music; that tear has been caught by
God and treasured in the lachrymatory of heaven. "Thou puttest my tears
into thy bottle," implies that they are caught as they flow. The
suppliant, whose fears prevent his words, will be well understood by the
Most High. He may only look up with misty eye; but "prayer is the falling
of a tear." Tears are the diamonds of heaven; sighs are a part of the
music of Jehovah's court, and are numbered with "the sublimest strains
that reach the majesty on high." Think not that your prayer, however weak
or trembling, will be unregarded. Jacob's ladder is lofty, but our prayers
shall lean upon the Angel of the covenant and so climb its starry rounds.
Our God not only hears prayer but also loves to hear it.
"He forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
" True, he regards not high looks and lofty words; he cares not for the
pomp and pageantry of kings; he listens not to the swell of martial music;
he regards not the triumph and pride of man; but wherever there is a heart
big with sorrow, or a lip quivering with agony, or a deep groan, or a
penitential sigh, the heart of Jehovah is open; he marks it down in the
registry of his memory; he puts our prayers, like rose leaves, between the
pages of his book of remembrance, and when the volume is opened at last,
there shall be a precious fragrance springing up therefrom.

"Faith asks no signal from the skies,
To show that prayers accepted rise,
Our Priest is in his holy place,
And answers from the throne of grace."

Ps 47:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
2 For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.
3 He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet.
4 He will choose our inheritance for us, The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah
5 God has gone up with a shout, The LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.
9 The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.

To: Faith; All

My computer connection died last night, so I prayed and finally went to bed.

When I posted last night Elijah's intercession bringing on a small cloud which in turn led to a downpour, it was not prophetic, it was merely a prayer-wish on my part. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear, and apologize. Like most or all of us, I've had to pray this election through from a position of repentance and intercession, with no special prophetic light.

Nonetheless, the pericope does make for a fitting prayer metaphor. We can continue to pray that what once was invisible, and which now looks like a small cloud - the razor thin margins in four critical states, and the equally thin spiritual mandate from the people in general - will continue to gather mass and culminate in a great downpour. Send us rain, O Lord.

It looks like God has given us a victory. But it is really His victory, and ours only to the degree that we are identified with Him. Like Joshua's Commander of the Armies of the Lord, He has come to take over, more than to take sides. And even if today's situation were to somehow come to be reversed, He is still with us to bring about His will.

For us this is only the end of the beginning; our work in the nation and the world has just begun. Some of the congressional races were indeed sweet, and we are indeed happy for them, but it is not enough to merely win elections. The work of the Spirit cannot be done from top-down alone; it must be undergirded from the bottom-up. We have a deeply divided nation before us. A substantial minority of Evangelicals voted against what were clear moral imperatives. Many minorities remain tragically alienated and continue to work against everyone's best interests.

My feeling at the moment is mostly numbness; I'm not sure what to think. But that we have made it to this point without being defeated is in itself a victory. I take no carnal joy over defeating human foes. Being "more than conquerors" entails the next step of winning them over to Christ.

May the Lord's cause endure, and may He continue to draw all things to Himself, His perfect will to perform, until that Day when this present age of darkness will be swallowed up by Light.

Paul

My prayers continue for all the poll workers and election officials, for the lawyers and observers, for the party officials, who have the heavy task of fairly counting the ballots.

May their work be honest and quick. May the nation be spared a divisive legal contest.

Kerry has conceded--

We thank YOu, Lord, for answering our prayers for a victory in this Presdiential election! We THANK YOU for another four years of our wonderful President, Your servant George W. Bush. We thank You for the example of a Godly child, that he has provided for so many months, through this very contentious campaign.

We thank YOU for his example of being graceful in accepting Kerry's concession.Help us to be as gracious even when we're tempted to gloat at this win. Let us shine Your love.

We pray that the next four years would bring a great spiritual revival in our country.

THANK YOU for answering so many prayers in these last days, week, and months. You kept our President and his family safe, and they continued to look to You for guidance. The election was peaceful, with few complaints of voter fraud. The popular vote was OVERWHELMING for Bush.We praise and thank You for answered prayers!

Amen.

prayers answered!
GODBLESS YOU ALL!
GRACE TO YOU BRETHREN!

Ps 48:1 A Song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, In His holy mountain.
2 Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.
3 God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge.
4 For behold, the kings assembled, They passed by together.
5 They saw it, and so they marveled; They were troubled, they hastened away.
6 Fear took hold of them there, And pain, as of a woman in birth pangs,
7 As when You break the ships of Tarshish With an east wind.
8 As we have heard, So we have seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, In the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah
9 We have thought, O God, on Your lovingkindness, In the midst of Your temple.
10 According to Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah be glad, Because of Your judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, And go all around her. Count her towers;
13 Mark well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces; That you may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide Even to death.
(NKJV)

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
SOLA CHRISTUS!
SOLA FIDE!
SOLA GRATIA!
SOLA SCRIPURA!

PRAISE HIM,PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!
THANKS BE TO GOD!

GRACE TO YOU ALL!

AMEN kayak.

I dedicated a portion of this day to thanking and praising our God and Saviour for his gracious answer to our prayers, so I haven't visited FR since early this morning. The first thing that jumped out at me when I opened the web page was a ping to this thread. Thank you for reminding the FR forum of the fact that we owe this great victory solely to Almighty God who has intervened in the affairs of our nation to steer America back toward the course he intended this great nation to follow.

When I opened my bible this morning my eyes first fell on Psalm 1. I was struck by the psalm's description of the contrast between the blessed man and the wicked man. That psalm reminded me of the contrast between the blessed man who we elected yesterday, and the previous man who held that high office.

Ps. 1;

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor standeth in the way of sinners,
Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the law of Jehovah;
And on his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water,
That bringeth forth it's fruit in it's season,
Whose leaf also doth not wither;
And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The wicked are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the rightous.

For Jehovah knoweth the way of the rightous;
But the way of the wicked shall perish."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
praise him all people here below.

Praise him ye heavenly host,
praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's not forget to pray for the brave soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen of America and our allies who are far from home and loved ones today, and who are placing their lives in mortal danger to protect us from those who mean to do us harm. May God protect each and every one of them and bring them home safely.
