Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here and since finding Free Rebublic I have been inspired! I was very fortunate to hook up with a great group of folks and participate in a rally! The rally was hosted by Bob Chamberlain, whose wife "had to literally peal me off the ceiling when John Kerry started spewing his lies about Viet Nam". Bob has sponsored several rallies and I wish that I had found him and Free Republic sooner! We met in Raleigh, NC across from the UNC campus.
Bob listens to one mans point of view, then proceeds to give him the real facts! Bob is a Viet Nam veteran and a wealth of information. He came prepared with flyers, business cards ("John Kerry is unfit to be President, Learn about John Kerry's record at:") complete with his web site, signs for us to carry and a huge billboard in the back of his truck. (Thanks Bob!)
You can visit Bob's website at: Betrayed Viet Nam Vet
While there in Raleigh, I had the great privilege of going to the local Republican headquarters. Richard Burr's campaign bus pulled up and he and his entourage filed out. As you can see in the picture below, Elizabeth Dole (in the red dress; beautiful lady!) was in attendance as well as the Republican endorsed Judicial Team; John Tyson (for Supreme Court Justice), Paul Newby (for Supreme Court Justice), Barbara Jackson (for Court of Appeals), Alice Stubbs (for Court of Appeals), and Bill Parker (for Court of Appeals). Remember fellow North Carolina residents, the Judicial nominees race is bi-partisan, meaning that there will be no "R" beside their names to indicate that they are endorsed by the Rebublican Party. Memorize their names or write them down. You ARE allowed to carry this list into your polling station and use it to remind you.
I also had the privilege of meeting Lee who drives a taxi in Raleigh. A staunch Bush supporter, Lee's taxi is decorated inside and out with placards, stickers, decals, Bob's web site on the bumper and even her drivers badge has a picture of our fearless leader, GW! You go girl!
Some pics of fellow Freepers. Freeper's Rock!! Ya'll are the greatest!!
We enjoyed a great response to our rally. Lots of "honks for Bush", "honks for our troops", thumbs up signals from those who drove by, and even a car that stopped and gave us bumper stickers with "WHO WOULD OSAMA VOTE FOR" printed on them! Of course there were a couple of incidents (picture below) of the other sides view of our rally. Mainly the "one finger intelligence" bird flipping, the thumbs down Michael Moron look alikes and the clueless, soon to be over educated, young folks who were not even born until after the Viet Nam war.
Oh well, you can't please everyone!
"Clueless, soon to be over educated", young man who once he started cussing NC Lady (freeper), was asked to leave unless he had a permit to protest. Notably, his sign was posted on the back of a cardboard Budweiser case box! To his credit, I will add, after he left, he did come back and apologize to her for being ugly. Maybe there is hope for the younger generation!

I would fear for the car if it's parked anywhere near Franklin Street tonight.
Rabid liberals and rampant, drunken debauchery could contribute to her car being vandalized.
I have one W-04 sticker in my rear window and a "Support the Troops" magnet on my car, and I would not park it that area without fearing for my paint job or tires.

I forgot to add - my wife and I both went to NCSU. When my daughter decided to go there are well (she is a freshman and avid member for the NCSU Republican group) my UNC cousin said how sad - a whole family ruined. :-)

Hey, it's ok Wolfpackers - you ALMOST beat Miami....

Depending on how busy the mods and FR are, you get a quicker response by clicking on 'Report Abuse', signing your name, explaining that you're the author of the post / thread, and politely asking that 'such-and-such be corrected'.
When I've messed something up, that's what worked for me.

Good point. That probably would tend to get their attention a bit quicker.

It works ... but be careful not to abuse the privilege of the Abuse Button. The Mods often have their hands full with trolls.
