if they are angry, disturb them,
if they are humble, make them haughty,
if they are relaxed, toil them,
if they are united, separate them

My guess is that 52/47 is a conservative estimate! Why doesn't someone dust off that old slogan-- "54-40 or fight"

I am voting straight Republican this year.Ditto, for the first time in my life. I always voted Pub in major elections but tried to decipher what candidate might actually be the best qualified for the job on county level stuff etc.
No more. Period. I am so put off by the behavior and rhetoric of the Democrats since just a few weeks after 9-11, escalating to it's present discordant screech that at this point, I seriously doubt I'll ever vote for another Democrat in my life. Ever.

State-by-state polls with voter turnout from 2000 projected upwards by population growth are currently showing Bush 48.5 - Kerry 45
I've seen GOP GOTV predicted for a 3% betterment of the projected GOP total, when Dems are expeting a 1.5% betterment of their projected total from GOTV, so we need to add 1.5% to the GOP margin for GOTV efforts
Thus, 50-45.
Undecideds then break evenly, and the Field collects 1%, Bush 52-Kerry 47. That will turn into an Electoral vote tally somwhere between 360 and 400 for Bush.
I can buy that.

If its 52-47, the electoral vote tally for Bush will necessarily be much higher than 300 EV.

Hey I'm not going to argue to point very deeply :) But Bush will pile up some lopsided victories in the South and West and some narrow ones in the midwest. My guess will be that he'll come close in some strong blue states but not quite enough. But I hope I'm wrong on the EV count though.

This election could have a very impact on the future of the DemoRatic Party. The 2000 election taught them to get rid of their gun control issue. (Clinton says that it cost Gore 4 states.) As a result of this election, they will be forced to get off gay marriage, and probably soften their stance on abortion.

**I think Cheney rules -- and he is sexier than the silky pony - smarter and HAS BETTER HAIR!!**
Most definitely sexier; Edwards always look effeminate to me. Cheney on the other hand smolders at Lynne and she glows back this interaction speaks volumes and is sexy silky pony is not!!.
More important Cheney is intelligent not street wise but intellectually intelligent and has not forgotten his roots. Edwards comes over as trying to remember and retain his roots but failing hopelessly as he simpers ups to Kerry.
One cannot imagine either Bush or Cheney simpering to each other like Kerry/Edwards do it is a perfect example of Adults as opposed to children. This alone one would hope would be sufficient to swing the vote Bush/Cheney's way.

Never read Sun Tzu, huh? Never. But reading some political books (tho' I haven't read THE--that--political 'bible') I've come across his sayings.
I'm guessing then, the reason this number was leaked was the "choleric temper" or "throwing something odd and unaccountable at the enemy"?

Still, can I just brag for a second: I personally have about 4 Democrats tied up in my basement. I'm feeding them biscuits and cheese, and they are allowed to watch network television as much as they want--very humane. You only have 4?
